Dwarves in Space! Please note that these are not kids books! They contain adult themes, adult humor, and mild adult language. The Underworld has always been the hub of technology in Ononokin, but up until now they could only dream of leaving the atmosphere. When the gnome known as Buzzrigger Tinkerpop connects with an enterprising dwarf by the name of Kusdrin Chainhelm, the Dwarf Aeronautic Space Administration (DASA) is born. Their first rocket is called The Pointy Anvil and it's only a couple months away from liftoff. The crew has been selected, training is underway, and they're in the final phase of fit and finish! Too bad there are often events that cause things to go awry, especially on Ononokin. But when things get really out of hand, the crew of The Pointy Anvil might just find themselves entering an entirely new reality that is no longer part of Ononokin at all! Here's what Amazon readers are ★★★★★ ‘This is a delightful universe, with a weary but feisty old wizard, his nemesis who is a former student, unexpectedly topsy-turvy characters, and wildly imaginative sources of magical power! Yes, an adult fairy tale alright, with hints of nightly activities that we wouldn't want to explain to children. ;)’★★★★★ ‘Great book and a hilarious read. I couldn't put it down and loved the characters. It is a must read for any fantasy reader out there.’★★★★★ ‘I'm a sucker for kind heroes and imaginative worlds. This has it in spades.’★★★★★ ‘I have read Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, and A. Lee Martinez and I would rank this among those books. I laughed so hard a few times people around me asked what the book was about and enjoyed the book as much as I did after reading it. I highly recommend purchasing this book!'★★★★★ ‘This truly inspired fantasy creation of sheer genius left me awestruck, for it was unexpectedly exceptional and just brilliant.’~THOUSANDS OF READERS HAVE FOUND A HOME IN THE LAND OF ONONOKIN. I have never read a book in this series until now, and now I must go back and read them all eventually. What great fun! First off, no you don’t need to have read the ones before because I had absolutely no problem jumping right in and enjoying myself, but I do think these are new characters. As with other books I’ve read by one of these authors, this book was filled with fun and action, great characters, and a plot full of surprises. I enjoyed myself from beginning to end, and I definitely look forward to reading more! Recommend this book very much!

Returning to whence I first discovered John P. Logsdon this tale of Ononokin space travel will have you chuckling from the start. An accidental push of a button by a professional pusher of buttons has this motley crew, and some hidden passengers, travel through space in a almost built but definitely untested space ship. That aside the chance to meet other planet's inhabitants far out ways the desire to return home, for some of the crew anyway. As the tale progressed I started to pick out the characters that exist in my office and couldn't help but align my allegiances to my own traits and I dare any reader not to do the same. Good fun read and can't wait for number nine, after visiting the books I've missed

If you need some laughter and irreverence, this is the book for you. The authors, Yogsdon and Lung, oops, Logsdon and Young just don’t quit. Their minds must be scary and funny places to be.
I do know that I can never again watch an episode of the original Star Trek without thinking of this book and laughing. And their hilarious take on so-called serious media issues is great. They even throw in some Asimov and Kardashev.

Tongue in Cheek Space Adventure

What would happen if Dwarves made it to space, recriminations, backdealing salesperson, race confused ogres would all find a new home and a yearning to return home via a humorous adventure or 2.
One of the best stories in the Onokin universe yet as any allusions to space faring tv shows is totally because of random imaginings on your part and alien manipulations lol
Well worth its 5 stars

Star Dwarves is an amusing sci-fi-ish adventure that brings together an already existing fantasy world with, well, space. Which is not always a comfortable combination. However, in this case, it works. The characters are fresh and amusing. The Easter eggs are plentiful. And most of the characters involved get a more or less happy ending. If you're willing to look at the universe from a perspective which appears slightly askew, definitely give Star Dwarves a try!

What happens when you bring races used to metallurgy and clockwork mechanics into the space age? Pure hijinks. After receiving a mysteriously delivered blueprint, a motley crew - a bunch of dwarves, an ogre, and 1.5 gnomes - race across the stars with hilarious results. While they certainly weren't ready for the final frontier, the universe at large definitely was not ready for them.

The crossover is strong with this one

If you ever wondered what would happen if the fantasy world of Ononokin bumped into the science fiction world of Starliner, this book is the answer. If you have no idea what either of those is, this book may lead you into hours of entertainment. Enjoy.

A laugh a minute

Love this book, the interaction of the characters is great, and you can almost hear the accents when reading their speech. The thought of a group of Dwarves being shot into space before they were ready and how they deal with the situation trying to get home is great. Was sorry when it ended.

Can't ger enough

I really love the Ononkin series by John P Logsdon and Chris Young. It is a lighthearted fantasy series that is in the same vein of Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams, with a little Monty Python mixed in

Kindle Unlimited, just when you {might} have given up hope {or started hoping, depending, js on whether more into the newer urban/magic ones or like all/any etc}} Logsdon is back with Ononokin, bit surprising as he's been hot and heavy on the Ian Dex and other associated books lately {with various cowriters}, but list below if you want to check those out {definitely for more urban/adult type readers IMNHO} versus Ononkin ones. {He doesn't really 'do' dragons in that series though he has cowriter who does them in one of the PPD series}.
