We Can Forever: A Small Town Romance (Silent Journey Book 1) Kindle Edition
(Admittedly, more because of the second than the first.)
When Pine Island’s new craft shop owner accidentally backs into his car, he takes that in stride too. And does what any fire chief would do.
Invite her out on a date.
It doesn’t take long to figure out that Hannah Lewis is gorgeous, quirky, smart as hell, and...hiding something.
Hannah has learned the hard way to keep the truth about her life as hush-hush as possible.
At best, people don’t understand. At worst, they call her lazy or a liar.
Better to just keep her secrets to herself and keep her distance from almost everybody.
But this tiny town’s sexy fire chief won’t seem to accept her attempt at solitude. He keeps showing up all patient and witty and a great dad. Everything Hannah has ever hoped for if she allowed herself to admit it.
He says he’s ready to fight her battles with her.
Will he still feel that way when he finds out the truth?

- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2024I really enjoyed this love story. The development of Hannah and her illness was terrific. I learned so much. The dynamic between Michael and Hannah was fantastic. The story was a page turner and kept me reading. I look forward to reading the next book!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2024We Can Forever was the first book by the author that I have read. It was an eye opening small town second chance romance, between a heroine with a chronic illness and a single dad hero. Both have been disappointed by love and decided it was time they took a chance at love to go on a blind date with one another. Just as you might guess, one thing lead to another and they form a beautiful relationship that neither one has ever experienced. The fear of loss and the tiring mindset of the “what ifs” take a toll on them both and the question of “Is love worth it?” comes to play. Love comes in all shapes and sizes and so much was represented here in this book. The sense of community, family, and friends was so strong and it made me wish I lived in a small town like that.
As the wife of a seasoned firefighter, I enjoyed reading about the daily life of a small town firefighter. I love and appreciate the service, dedication, and love for their community each and every public servant has. One of the things I love about my husband and how much he loves his brothers and community. And I love how that was prevalent in this book.
I loved being able to learn something new in this book. I learned a little about chronic pain and how their daily life might be.
We Can Forever is the first book In the Adult Silent journey series by the author and I’m excited to read the next book about Flick and her man.
I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a new author to read and a romance involving a firefighter.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2024This was the first book I have read from this author and it is the first of the series. I loved this small town, second chance (for Michael and Katie) romance! Everyone knew everyone and the nosey townspeople were funny.
Michael and Hannah were our couple for this book. Michael is a newly appointed fire chief, taking over from his dad, whom everyone in the town loved. They tell Michael about their opinions on what his dad would have wanted, especially with the new firehouse kitchen reno. He's trying to forge his own path while respecting his dad's memory. He also has his daughter to think about, which has been his excuse for not being in the dating scene.
Hannah has Fibro, an invisible, chronic illness that can flare up and cause her horrible pain at any moment. She has opened a craft store called "Knit Happens" (how cute is that title?) and is making her own way. When a friend suggests a blind date with her BROTHER, Hannah was reluctant, but agreed.
When Michael finds out about Hannah's illness, he is empathetic and tries to learn all he can about her illness. It was so sweet how he cared for her.
This book touched me because my mother has Multiple Sclerosis. She was diagnosed 13 years ago and any day can be a struggle for her. I reacted like Michael, trying to find out all I could about MS and how to help her and make her life better (especially since I now live overseas). I wish people were more considerate towards others. You never know what someone is going through! My mom has been given dirty looks because she is parked in a handicap, but she doesn't APPEAR handicapped, which is ridiculous. After my mom was diagnosed, I definitely tried changing my outlook on what other people may be going through...even if they hide it well.

This is the first book I’ve read by Lenna Phoenix and this was such a beautiful fun read that is such a cozy romance perfect for the fall. Hannah has come to Pine Island and opened up the cute knitting shop in town and Michael is the Fire Chief who has returned home after a loss. Hannah is such a beautifully strong vibrant woman who is strong and independent with a condition that some don’t believe is real. Michael is the strong not quite alpha male definitely the protective type especially over his little girl. Michael is such a strong man that you feel nothing can shake him however moments from his past continue to plague him as well as the wonderful charm of small town life. Small town life usually comes with everyone knowing everything you’re doing whether you want them to or not. Hannah isn’t sure if she will ever be ready to open her heart up to trust anyone which is ironic because Michael is somewhat in the same boat. However they choose to take a leap of faith to see what could happen and boy are there fireworks and passion. Williams Hannah and Michael truly be able to navigate this new romance in the small town? I absolutely adored every single moment of this book and one of the main reasons is it was such a sweet cozy read that didn’t involve extreme drama. Don’t get me wrong I love my extremely dramatic and twisty romance books but every once in a while a cozy sweet read is exactly what’s called for! I will most definitely be reading this book again and can’t wait for the rest of this series and to see what characters are up next! Thank you Lenna for such a fun beautiful read!
