They’ve tied the knot, but will their love last the distance?

Wendy didn’t expect to find love again after losing her beloved husband of over 30 years to a heart attack, but after being swept off her feet by a silver-haired Texan cowboy she met in a Dublin hotel, their relationship bloomed, and she agreed to marry him.

Now, Wendy couldn’t be more content as she and Bruce settle into married life in her harbourside home in Sydney.

Bruce is besotted with his new wife and is adjusting well to life in the city, although he secretly hankers for land, horses and open spaces.

When Paige, Wendy’s youngest daughter, announces she’s pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is, as loving Christian parents, Wendy and Bruce take her in and care for her, but she’s rebellious and angry, and threatens to disrupt their peaceful life.

Is their love strong enough to survive this unexpected intrusion?

“A Time to Care” is Book 2 in the A Time for Everything series, a mature-age Christian Romance series.  Whilst it can be read on its own, you’ll enjoy it better if you’ve read Book 1, “A Time for Everything” first.

This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions. It is a great story that teaches many lessons. It shows times of sorrow, times of joy, times of disappointment, and times of thankfulness. A wonderful book from an amazing author. (I was given an advance reader copy by the author. The opinions in this review are my own.)

This book was a definite emotional roller coaster. I was so drawn into the struggles of Paige. Wendy and Bruce are so down to earth people who struggle with how to love and care for their adult children and support them while allowing God to work on their lives. I really enjoyed the pro life message of this story and how Juliette chose to handle the topics of abortion and same sex relationships. A very God honoring story that did not shy away from culturally sensitive topics. Thank you Juliette for continuing to bring us stories that edify God and show real like people dealing with real life struggles.

The challenge is to put our heartfelt beliefs into everyday action. Even when we are totally convinced that God is worthy of our trust, it's sometimes hard to live that trust out especially when it involves our children. We just can't stand the thought of them in danger since we've always stood between them & anything that would hurt them. But they are adults & we have to give God room to work in their hearts. We keep the lines open by loving them without reservation but respecting their decisions. I LOVE the way Bruce backs her up & encourages her through the hard times. They have found their love & their faith is solid.
The story is well written & flows so smoothly that you feel like you are there. As book 2 of the series, it could comfortably be read as a stand alone but you will enjoy it so much more if you read A Time to Treasure first.

Not the ending I expected. At. All.

I was so happy when Juliette Duncan came out with a romance with more mature characters. I loved the first book. I waited patiently for this book to come out. I was hooked on Wendy & Bruce's story. I was dying to read more about their blended families. Especially considering how much was up in the air with both Simon and Paige. So this book wrapped up a lot of loose ends for me!

Without giving away any spoilers I have to say the ending was nothing like I expected. Truly drove home that God is looking at things from an eternal point of view whereas we tend to look at the here & now. I think I went through half a box of Kleenex in the last couple of chapters alone!

Now....Bruce also has a family on the other side of the globe. I hope that the next book will shine some light on Bruce's estranged son!

I love Juliette Duncan's books. Her stories are powerful, emotional and real. This is the second book featuring Bruce and Wendy. It deals with so many relevant issues - death, infertility, immorality, blended families, homosexuality, and unwanted pregnancy. But the issue that struck me most was "why didn't God answer my prayer?" The anger and frustration that goes along with that is something I've struggled with. Towards the end of the book, there is a sermon preached that explains it better than I've ever heard it. Even now, it was an eye opening reminder of God's grace and sovereignty. This book spoke to me on so many levels. I strongly recommend reading this book.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have read a lot of Juliette Duncan's books and "A Time to Care" did not disappoint. This is a heart-wrenching, tearful, true-to-life story. What a solid, Bible believing, christian Bruce is! How wonderful that God brought Bruce and Wendy together after both had experienced the death of a spouse. Bruce and Wendy show God's love, grace, and forgiveness when daughter Paige comes home pregnant and they stand by her until the end! What love and compassion are shown! Make sure you have Kleenex on hand while reading! I received a complimentary copy of this book and have chosen on my own to give an honest review

Wendy and Bruce are very special people. Watching the way they are there for Paige is truly amazing. Paige is angry because of loosing her dad. When Wendy and Bruce decide to sale the house and move Paige isn’t sure about the move. Paige realizes that she is angry and starts to talk to God again. The characters in this book are all very special people who you will enjoy reading about. This book is truly inspirational and you won’t be able to stop reading it. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

A great read! This book is family life at its best, and family life at its worse, and everything in between. Juliette Duncan has courageously written real life with its joys and its sadness, with its difficulties and with its blessings. Readers will enjoy reading about Bruce and Wendy and their family in Australia and their family in the USA, and their interactions with each other. A new marriage is not easy at anytime, a second marriage could be somewhat more difficult, but then mix in a variety of family problems and you have 'A Time to Care'. This book will touch your hearts in many ways.

Thanks Juliette for a well-done, edifying mature romance.

This story is a beautiful story of two older people who each lost their spouse. When they meet while on vacation and with no companions they enjoy a nice comraderie. It's funny how God can put two people from different hemispheres of the world and the make a heart connection. At the end of their extended vacation and falling in love how will they make it work when she lives in Australia and he lives in the United States. When we allow God in control he will make all things work for good. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

Another beautifully written Christian story.
Paige is Wendy's daughter who has been angry and bitter at God since her dad died. She rebels and
makes a mess of her life though Wendy and Bruce keep praying that Paige would return to her faith in God. Sometimes terrible things happen to Christians even though we don't understand why. We can only trust that God is in control.
Keep the tissues handy with this story. Not only is there trouble with Paige, but Simon
Wendy's son, as well.
It a beautiful, but realistic story you don't want to miss.

A beautiful, moving story of God’s goodness and redemption no matter what we do. Life doesn’t always go smoothly for recently wed Bruce and Sarah, both previously widowed, but their love for God and one another helps them to love their children unconditionally. Read alone or as part of the three book series, this book is well written with genuine emotion and life events that we all may face each day. I look forward to more work by Juliette Duncan!

Wendy decided to sell her home that she and her deceased husband Greg live and raised their children in and find a small farm for her and Bruce. This story has drama and excitement.Paige ,her daughter ends up pregnant ànd comes home after living with the homeless.I was given a copy of this book and this is my honest review

Once again Juliette Duncan has written an outstanding story of relying on God to face and survive some of the toughest troubles, events and decisions that occur in these times. Her characters are depicted in such a way as you feel their pain and trials as though they were yours. In this story they face death, unwanted pregnancy, sexual orientation ~ all of which are facing people in today’s world daily. Juliette Duncan handles these in a beautiful Christian read!

A Time to Care is a very well-written book and one that addresses real life issues. There is the sweetness of the newlywed relationship and the heartache of adult children choosing to live their lives apart from God. Overall, it's a book about God's great love and mercy and how we are to mirror that in our relationships. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this moving story.

Having read the first book and loved it, I was eager to read the second. It was nice to start to get an insight into the lives of other the characters that you just get glimpses of in the first book. It perhaps wasn’t as gripping a read for me as the first book but I was keen to see how Paige’s story unfolded and I wasn’t disappointed. Juliette is an author that doesn’t dissapoint!

This is a voluntary review. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

Juliette Duncan deals with difficult subjects in A Time to Care. Newlyweds, Bruce and Wendy face situations with her adult children while establishing their new life together. You will enjoy the setting in Australia while wondering how children raised in a Christian home can make such poor decisions. I recommend A Time to Care to anyone who enjoy books about fiftyish couples. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Ordered, received and read all three of her books today. Was enthralled with all of them. Almost felt like I was reading someone's life story. Covered so many aspects, love, hate, sadness, happiness, disappointment, tragedy, overcoming tragedy, many appropriate Bible verses. Enough said. Get book 1 for yourself. Bet you will quickly purchase book 2 and 3. As for me, I am hoping there is a book 4.

This is the second book in the series A Time for Everything. This book continues with GOD always does things for the best & we can trust Him even when we don't understand. That our children belong to Him & He will work out what is best for them. Our place is to love them & GOD's is to change them & us.

Juliette’s books always draw me in. Her characters could be my friends or neighbors struggling with life’s problems. This book was no different. Paige is still trying to find her way after her father’s death years ago. She’s made some wrong choices and has hit bottom. A bittersweet ending that leaves me looking forward to Simon’s story.

Juliette has done it again. Her books are so moving. This one really makes you pause and think a bit. I usually like a happy ending, but this one is not exactly that. It really makes you grateful for what you have. I highly recommend this book and really all of Juliette's books. If you enjoy good, clean Christian fiction, then this a book for you.

Enjoyable, well written story. Loved the storyline. The characters are well rounded and written with sensitivity and grace.
I love Ms. Duncan's writing style. She's able to take two people from completely different backgrounds and bring them together. With love and faith they deal with the problems of blending two families, different lifestyles, and even different countries.

Tender story about a loving family with a twist at the end.

The story of Bruce and Wendy McCarthy continues as their family experiences ups and downs while they continue to share their love. Juliette brings life to her characters and, as always, we weaves a compelling story that keeps the reader feeling the tender love of a family.

A Time To Care

Newly married and finding love for the second time, they are adapting to a new life, when a her long lost daughter returns with problems of her own. This story weaves the tale of how they are able to share their love and help the daughter find her way back to God. I really enjoy Duncan's Christian novels.

Wonderfully real

I've always wanted a Christian romances novel that would reflect reality and reading A time to care fulfilled that dream for me. I have always known that Christianity is a journey of twists, and Juliette could have not reflected it any better than she did in this book. I would recommend it any day to anyone who is looking for a good read.

A wonderful story of character development and a marriage that survived unpredictable events. I started this book and could not put it down. The end is a total surprise. But it gave me, personally, that, I can survive many challenges if I continue to have a Christian spirit. Highly recommend. Want to read the next book in series.
I may need help in finding the next in the series.
