Getting claws raked across your face isn't all that fun...
The New York Paranormal Police Department is still reeling from the beating they took while saving Mike, the weretiger. Bethany Black is resilient, though, even if she does have to deal with the constant criticisms of her pixie partner.
When wizards start turning up dead, Bethany and her crew have to figure out who's behind it. Turns out, this isn't such a mystery, seeing as the assassin left a knife at the scene and it had a big "H" on the handle. Plus, Bethany caught sight of the guy since he was the one who threw that knife into her leg.
The new villain, known as The Hunter, is making things more interesting by the minute.
He keeps assassinating the wizards the PPD needs to question.
As Bethany continues to build her chops as a supernatural cop, she'll have to learn to stand on her own...after she heals from that knife wound, of course. But the city has a way of breaking you down, if you're not careful.
John P. Logsdon is a former game designer, producer, and software engineer who shamelessly digs into the deep recesses of his mind to bring forth oddball characters and hilarious plots. He writes primarily in fantasy, urban fantasy, and science fiction, but he's also dabbled in cozy mystery from time to time. To see John's vast library of laughs, visit www.johnplogsdon.com.
Fun, fun, fun!! Yes, that’s exactly what you get when you read a book in the PPD series, and this latest in the NYPPD series portion is nothing but pure fun. I adore Bethany, and I love the trouble she always seems to get into. The relationship she has with her cohorts is extremely entertaining, and I laugh out loud when I read this book. Great writing plus a book you can’t put down equals an afternoon passing very quickly. If you love fun, non-stop action books, give this one a try! I do recommend this book and the whole series.
Bethany the Waretiger is becoming an excellent PPD officer.
Bethany is becoming quite the PPD officer, if only Shakespear would show he appreciates her. Her goblin bodyguards are great if a tad secretive. Love the vampire and he has secrets he needs to share. Excellent addition to the PPD stories.
kindle unlimited, Logsdon and a different co-conspirator/writer than his Ononokin etc ones, except for one of the series just can't get into for whatever reason, the rest are coming along, one new one should be out soon if remember right, so unlike other 'universes' where it's hit and miss on which co-writer/series and/or if even have any interest in most of them, this one seems to be coming along fine. So far there is Las Vegas, Netherworld, Southeast Asia, Seattle, Shadow, New York, Badlands, and think heard one or 2 more under consideration/being thought & talked about.

Bethany is struggling with her newbie status at the PPD. She and she isn't having as much fun as she thought she would as a paranormal detective. With her friend Mike, the only other weretiger left being kidnapped and his claw stolen too terrified to leave his room at the Netherland Zoo, she is full of anger and frustration. Max her pixie partner is also always after her. Nagging, snarky. Now she is out for blood...but so is Max. "The Hunter" an assassin, is killing wizards left and right. The one in control of the plot to use the weretiger claw to make more tigers to make an army is still unknown and elusive. Sir Pickle has secrets. violence, sharp knives, melting people, a lot of snark, unhelpful goblin guardians, a carnivorous junk car, and tons of frustration...oh and don't forget a good supply of bugs leads the reader on an adventure through Bethany's new life in the PPD. You won't want to miss this second book in this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.
How do you follow your first big case as a rookie? Simple you go after the mob! As Rookie PPD officer and weretiger, Bethany Black, delves deeper into the mystery surrounding her friend,Mike’s, kidnapping, she finds things even more complicated then she first believed. Add to that a new enemy, aptly named The Hunter, and Bethany has got more than she can handle on her own. Let’s hope she can suppress that famous tiger pride and survive this next adventure! It’s going to be a wild one!
The second instalment sees Bethany hot on the tail of the Hunter a hired killer, who is knocking off wizards and stealing their bodies. What links this to the kidnapping of Mike the weretiger and the stealing of one of his claws. Max and Bethany follow the clues and the line of dead wizards, will they track down the person or persons behind it all. Another fantastic PPD book from the brilliant minds of John Logsdon and Ben Zackheim. A roaringly great fun ride with comedy and action galore, well worth a read.
How to have fun alienating an endangered species. As Bethany strives to shed her rookie status in the NY PPD, it seems everyone is taking potshots at her. She runs afoul of the goblin mob with their mysterious leader and a supernatural assassin seemingly tying up loose ends from the Blood Claw case, all while dealing with turmoil within her own team. After learning about the angst Mike, her best friend and only other weretiger, is suffering through, she unleashes newfound resolve. Time to get a new ride and roar. A story filled with insane action, unlikely allies, and hilarity.
Another great tail about our favourite WareTiger Cop as again she tries to survive her time as a rookie whilst sinister forces are at work because of her heritage.
No spoilers but some great reveals about a few of the characters and I'm loving the Max and Black interactions. Great page turner and another worthy addition to a rapidly expanding PPD universe .
Bethany Black is at ger best! This book is awesome!
Savage Claws is intense and full of twists and turns. Bethany Black is a fierce, strong, and amazing heroine. She continues to try to fit into her role as a PPD officer and make a difference. Her character continues to grow stronger and I admired her very much. The story caught and held my attention all the way to the end. It's a story full of magic, surprises, and laughter. I can't wait to see what she does next.
Bethany Black one of two remaining genuine weretigers who happens to be a PDP officer and her pixie partner Max run riot in NYC as they battle the Mob. Her hilarious and all too authentic Mob bodyguards Bob and Joe get most of the laughs and are sworn in to office but don't worry there are plenty magic moments throughout with Granny G and Sir Pickle please. Not the best ending I have read from JPL but it still leaves me wanting the next BB book
Bethany Black is back and still coming to terms with being a rookie on the PPD and one of two remaining weretigers on the planet. This time around Bethany has learned some of the ropes and is even working on getting along with her partner, which is no easy feat. There is plenty of action and several interesting plot twists as Bethany and her team try to track down the source of the Blood Claw ritual. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Love it,can't wait for the story to progress. Bethany is a scream and her relationship with Max is progressing nicely. Her two bodyguards Bob and Joe are hilarious. Great storyline as always and what a cracking read, I read it in one sitting, I couldn't put it down! The insults that fly as always laugh out loud. More Granny G and Sir Pickle please, great characters both begging for a novella.
This is the 2nd instalment of the Bethany Black, weretiger and PPD rookie, story and it keeps getting better. It is full of action, sarcasm and laughs but also has an engaging storyline and I am being drawn deeper into this book with the expansion of the individual characters’ stories. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this book too. Highly recommended.
Bethany Black is back. This time, she, her partner Max and her goblin bodyguards are on the trail of whomever stole a were tiger claw. I loved seeing the growth of the main characters as their personalities all start to blend together. She is an excellent addition to the PPD world
Bethany is developing into a fascinating character. She isn’t perfect which makes reading about her experiences as she learns and grows fun. And my favorite phrase is “The Stupid Moron Spell”. I am also looking forward to finding out more about Sir Pickle
Bethany's back! One of the last two weretigers in the world she's on a mission to protect her species while dealing with mobgoblins and an assassin -not forgetting her rather difficult partner Max. Bethany also acquires some interesting allies along the way. Fast paced and fun!
Welcome to the NYPPD, where weretiger Bethany Black and the rest of the team are dealing with murdered wizards, hobgoblin and a hit man who may be immortal. It is a great read.
This book has action, comedy, a car (trust me that this has meaning once you've read the book), and a staring contest that would make Conan O'Brien weep! Laugh out loud funny! Be prepared to explain what was so funny to whoever is around as you read it.
Book no 2 is just as much fun as the first, thre charzchters are well rounded and enjoyable, Max 's foul mouth is grest and Granny G is awesome. The plot is intrigueing and keeps you hookef.
The NYPPD is a trip! I'm glad to see Bethany Black gaining some traction with her peers there! The authors catch the essence of how women are treated in predominately male occupations quite well. Highly recommended!
Bethany is definitely learning the perils of getting what you always wanted, and the joys of partnership - her growing pains as an officer of the PPD and the snippy repartee with Max are pure comedy gold.
What a great book! From brooding bad boy with major Father issues.. to grumpy dragons and in bears and wolves and a fated mate.. it is a great story with plenty of action and angst 10 things up! A definite must read!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Agent Black is getting acclimated to life in the NY PPD and working with her partner Max. They are still looking for the missing wizard and suddenly deaths starts happening all over, complicating the case.
This collaboration is a great continuation to the series. I am loving the interaction between the characters and the ongoing case.
