What do you call an unarmed PPD officer in the middle of the Badlands? A victim.

Chief Zeke Phoenix survived his funeral party…barely. Now survival turns into mayhem management as he works to turn his team's begrudging respect into a force that’ll keep the Badlands in check.

When an unmarked package hits his desk, mayhem turns to chaos. The package’s contents trigger a chain of events, leaving the only true law of the land understaffed, unarmed, and under attack.

They're one major assault away from being wiped out.

But Zeke Phoenix isn’t about to let that happen.

Needing a new batch of weapons—and fast—Zeke leads his crew across the wasteland. Forced to join with assassin hellions, they battle a constant barrage of villainy. If that wasn't bad enough, Zeke's little brother is along for the ride.

The question is whether Babysitter Zeke and the Badlands PPD can survive this road trip before they crash and burn.

This is a kickass, action-packed, snarkfest that can only be described as Smokey and the Bandit meets Mad Max.

Seriously good.

A fast-paced action book with strong characterization and great plot. Love a book where the characters grow and adapt to their circumstances. Solid world-building, fun read, introducing 2 great new characters. Can't wait for the next one!

This is the latest in the adventures of Zeke Phoenix, the new chief of the Badlands, and he is a dragon.
Also, he foolishly thought it was starting to get better, as he handled his little party. Well, that was until someone blew up the place and he needed to get new weapons. Which meant a trip to the Wall.

But what is a road trip without family, as his mother drops off his little brother, a Bragon, with the mind of a child and the killer skills of an assassin, which he tends to black out when he does it.

The whole crew packs up in some deadhuals add Rose's old driving instructor and a bunch people out to stop/ or and kill them. And you have a great road trip.

Loved the book can't wait for the next one.

Dragon's Plight fun, fast, fantasy

Zeke tries to be a noble Dragon but the badlands makes it extremely difficult. This second in the badlands PPD was even better than the first. Lots of action, racy jokes, and even a Bragon. Hits the 3 F's- fun, fast, fantasy.

kindle unlimited, read and reread this couple times, plus multiple listens, and while figured out the angle/who was talking about what between Zeke and the other demon {not his 2nd in command}, still no idea how the demon ended up right on their tail when he couldn't do the 'obstacle course' that the 2nd in command took, know doesn't make sense way putting it but trying to do no spoilers as much as possible.. but still wondering after all the reads/rereads, but in the end either misunderstood or missed something, or the writer/s did, but not enough for me to take star/s off, of course.

Besides Zeke's PPD station having it's armory blown up, he is having an ok day. That is until his mother, Hilda shows up with babysitting duties for him for his brother. Now that plummets his day into rot and ruin. Now besides taking him and his team into certain death to replace their weaponry, he has to take his little brother with him. Get ready to go on the ride for your life in this snarky, dangerous, violent tale of Team A as they try to keep body...possibly souls together as they drive across the Badlands to the Netherworld Proper to stock up at Chief Carter's PPD. See Pecker again in all his snark. In the meantime, while all this is going on treachery is afoot and our gang is left in a clift hanger of a predicament. Can't wait until the next adventure comes out. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Strong dragon magic, very riveting and intense.

I find myself admiring Zeke from Dragon's Plight. He is a strong leader and he will fight to the bitter end for what he feels is right. He is the kind of character that stays with you, even after you have finished the book. That is the magic that is from the authors, John P. Logsdon and Orlando Sanchez, to create such an magnetic character (it doesn't hurt that he's a dragon). This book had me laughing out loud many times at the banter between Zeke and his team. It also had me holding my breath with all the intense drama. I loved it!

ROADTRIP!

Chief Ezekias Phoenix, newly minted chief of the Badlands paranormal police department, thought he had weathered the storm of his initial funeral party and all the other nasties that crawled out of the woodwork to try and take him out during his first couple of weeks on the job. Instead, he finds himself needing to take his team on a suicide run in a last ditch effort to save any type of law and order, such as it is, in the Badlands—a trip that is monumentally complicated when his fearsome Valkyrie mother, Hilda, tasks him with babysitting his little brother along the way. What could go wrong? ROADTRIP!!!

Just what I needed! A fun book to read and I am really enjoying getting to know Zeke and his Team better.
There are too many funny parts to this story to detail (and I don’t want to spoil your fun), but I think that my favorite part is The Accountants. They are just hysterical. I mean, who can say “Accountants closing in” with a straight face?
And the Gauntlet is genius!
I can’t wait for the next installment.

Phenomenal

Do you know the difference between mostly dead and slightly alive? Do you like car chases, death and dismemberment? Can you stay good when everyone around you is bad?

These questions and many more are addressed in this PPD installment. This second in the badlands series is FANTASTIC!!! A MUST read for all PPD fans and all fans of comedic supernatural drama. Do yourself a favor and get this book!

Couldn’t put it down

An explosion starts the need for a road trip across the Badlands to collect some replacement weapons, all the while trying to out run the bad guys and keep a little brother under control and safe, Zeke really has his hands full in this second book in the series. Another great read penned by the talented duo Logsdon and Sanchez. Can’t wait for no 3.

Just... Wow!

Zeke and crew are facing a lot of trouble when someone blew up the precinct.. And more importantly, all their weapons! What does a police department do when they are weaponless in the Badlands?

As usual, anything that Orlando Sanchez and John P Logsdon write together is going to be full of action and a lot of fun to read

Most Fun yet

This is the best of this series yet, the humour, team bonding and the sexual innuendo runs rampant.
This is more of a team bonding compared to a lot of other books with a few new characters that I'm sure will be firm favourites further on.
Just loved this and is a real satisfying page turner.

The adventure amps up a notch in the Badlands PPD when the bad guys get serious about shutting down the new Chief and his law and order ways. The A team has to put on their A game to make sure that some semblance of order can be returned to the Badlands. This story has non-stop action and plenty of humor. I'm already looking forward to the next installment to see what the team will do next.

Zeke is back and finally getting his crew on his side - sort of! Being the Badlands PPD Chief is not historically a smart career move as there is a target on his back from day 1, and the bad guys have a personal vendetta against Zeke. Good job he's a dragon raised by valkyries then! Fast and funny, I really enjoyed this book.

Action and laughter great combination

Take two fabulous authors and mix into an exciting and hilarious adventure. The paranormal police force series is great but the badlands made me laugh out loud on the edge of my seat...keep them coming!

What a ride! If the personification of Chaos, after guzzling energy drinks and binge watching all of both Dukes of Hazzard and Fast & Furious, read this, he/she would still utter expletives in surprise. Badlands really is synonymous with "worst case scenario." Outrageously fun.

Love this second book. It is fast paced and it starts to really give you insight into Zekes team and his family. Of course his family is as rare as he is. The back story line also starts to become more clear.

I love the whimsical nature of this series, and I love the characters. In the second book, Zeke’s place of business is bombed, and he and his colleagues becomes a target for many gangs when most of their weapons are destroyed. A quest for more weapons ensues, and like always, hilarity also ensues. I just loved this fun, action-paced adventure, and I love the addition of Zeke’s brother; he is great! If you love the rest of the series, you need to give this one a try. You don’t need to have read the previous book in the series to enjoy this one. I highly recommend this book!

Dragons and hellions and bears (well, bragons at least) oh my!

PPD badlands is a non-stop rollercoaster ride (sometimes literally). Chief Phoenix and team have to stop the bad guys (and some them are wearing PPD badges!) while every criminal in the Badlands is out to get them. Jump in, grab hold and be readt for a wild ride. Cant wait the next book!

What a ride

A naive dragon, who knew. This entire book takes place in just a couple days but those days are full of fights & car chases. Our team solidifies a little more, we meet Zeke's mother & his little brother.

Excellent Book

Excellent fast paced story with action, adventure and more snark than you can shake a stick at. But read the book it's more fun than shaking a stick! Seriously loved this story and I'm sure that the next book will be great as well!

Another very funny one from Logsdon & Sanchez. The characters aren't as developed as in the Montague & Strong series, but still a good, exciting read. It's a believable fantasy world and that's what I need right now.
