A Time for Everything #4

A Time to Rejoice

Rate this book

He’s never forgiven himself for the accident that killed his mother. Can he find forgiveness and true love?

Bruce McCarthy’s heart aches for his estranged son, Andrew. After witnessing the grief his wife Wendy, suffered after the loss of her daughter, he knows there may never be a tomorrow, so, when he and Wendy travel back to his family ranch in Texas, Bruce’s main goal is to build bridges with his son.

Andrew McCarthy has built a life for himself. It might not be the life his folks had planned for him, but it was his life, and he was happy with it. He didn’t need his family. Melody and her five-year old daughter were all he needed.

But something was missing in his life, although he wouldn’t admit it to anyone, let alone himself.

Wendy encourages Bruce to trust God in this situation, just like he’d encouraged her when she was struggling with everything, but when she tumbles off a horse and breaks a leg, once again she’s faced with a situation only God can fix.

But can He heal the wounds of the heart as well as healing Wendy’s physical ones?

Wendy and Bruce’s love is tested yet again in this fourth book in the A Time for Everything series, a mature-age Christian Romance series.  Whilst it can be read on its own, you’ll enjoy it better if you’ve read Book 1, “A Time to Treasure”, Book 2, “A Time to Care”, and Book 3, “A Time to Abide”, first.  Read them now and be blessed!

This is such a powerful book. Showing it's all in God's timing. He has it all under control even though it may not seem like it until later. He is a mighty God! Wonderful inspiring book that I'll be reading more by this author soon.

A Time To Rejoice by Juliette Duncan is a powerful Christian novel that really warmed my heart. The book shows that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The miracle working God of the past is still in the same business today.
Life is not always easy but God is faithful. “I loved you at your darkest.” When life hits hard, God never abandons us. Though we may walk away from Him, He awaits our return. “Show me the way back” is the prayer that God longs to hear. There is much rejoicing when the prodigals return.
There is the theme of healing – healing of hearts and minds. As parents we long to see our children walk with God but until they do we “just have to be patient and keep on praying.”
Juliette Duncan is not afraid to tackle gritty relevant issues. In this book there are some troubled souls battling alcohol and drug addiction due to the weight of guilt. “He wasn’t an abuser; he could stop when he wanted.” This is a lie we tell ourselves. The truth is that we need the help and support of others to walk with us on the road to recovery. We are called to live out our faith and to be the hands and feet, eyes and ears of Jesus. When we see our fellow man in need, we must step in and help. We must preach the gospel at all times and if necessary use words.
The novel tackles the dreaded subject of cancer. Juliette Duncan is sensitive in her portrayal.
I really enjoyed A Time To Rejoice. Juliette Duncan always writes novels that honour God with realistic characters fighting their own battles who need the compassion of others and a big dose of God.
I will leave you with a powerful quote:
“Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant or insecure, remember to Whom you belong.”
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Bruce and Wendy married after their children were grown but that doesn't stop them from being concerned and wanting to help them. My heart went out to Andrew who blamed himself for his mother's death since he was driving when she was killed in an auto accident. God can send the right people to us at the right time. Even when Bruce and Wendy are given devastating news, God is with them. I recommend A time to Rejoice to others. I received a complimentary copy from the author. this is my honest opinion.

What an ending!

A Time to Rejoice is the 4th book in the series by Juliette Duncan. This has been one of my favorite Christian series. I feel like a part of the family after all Bruce and Wendy's families have been through. They have truly experienced every season of life, and some things a couple of times. Juliette Duncan has brought so much emotion to these books. I have laughed and cried my way through each book. I love how everything was so real and raw. Ms. Duncan didn't shy away from any subject just so she could tie everything up with a neat little bow. I appreciate that about her writing. Far too many Christian author's only focus on the good, glancing over the negative. But that's not how the real world works and I like to read more realistic stories. Just because someone is a Christian doesn't mean they don't experience death, addiction, homosexuality, and more. Accepting Christ is not a free pass to never experiencing those things - it's only a guarantee that you belong to God who you will spend eternity with. Sure it is probably a little easier knowing that God has it all under His control and that He only wants the best for each of us. I am so thankful that Ms. Duncan allows God to direct her writing. I can't wait to see what amazing books she writes next!

I just finished the fourth book in A Time For Everything series, and absolutely loved it. They were all great, but I think this was my favourite - what an amazing climax! A Christmas to remember, for sure. I am thankful to the author for providing me with an ARC copy even though I didn't get to read it in advance and I am under no obligation to give a good review; however I am delighted to review it.

I love that this series is about a mature couple and each of the stories in this series are relevant to situations that can and do happen in many of our families. It seems like a fairy tale when Bruce and Wendy meet while travelling and fall deeply in love with each other, but fairy tale, it is NOT. As we delve into the stories of their separate families living in Australia and Texas, we discover it is no fairy tale. If there is a problem to be experienced, Bruce and Nancy experience it and more.

This is a must read series. Any one of the books could be enjoyed as a standalone, but they work wonderfully together.

This is the fourth and final book in Juliette's A Time for Everything series. It continues to follow Bruce and Wendy and their families. The first book was about Bruce and Wendy meeting. Book two and three focused mainly on Bruce, Wendy and Wendy's children. This final book focuses on Bruce's children, especially his troubled middle son, Andrew. This final installment includes forgiveness, letting go of guilt, overcoming addiction and miracles that man cannot explain other than God reached it His hand. This story is truly a story of redemption and unconditional love. A great feel good story! I highly recommend you read the entire series but this was my favorite. I am going to miss Bruce and Wendy and their clan.
I was graciously gifted this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Juliette has masterfully brought this series to a beautiful conclusion. It is always a bit sad to finish a series when the author has brought you to a point of attachment with her characters in the story. I felt like I grew to know and love Bruce, Wendy, and their children. I appreciate the way that Juliette is able to weave the truths of God and His plans throughout the stories without being preachy. The theme of this series is that God is faithful and His time is not always ours. God is always working in people's lives and we often need to relinquish our control to Him to work in the lives of our loved ones to bring about His purpose in His time. I would encourage anyone to grab a copy of this series and enjoy. I received a complimentary copy of this story, but have chosen to give my honest opinion of this book.

I honestly don't think that I can write a review that will do justice to this excellent book. Juliette Duncan's A Time to Rejoice is well written as are all of her books that I've been privileged to read. In this book, the focus has switched from Wendy's family in Australia to Bruce's family in TX. I love to read of Wendy and Bruce's continued romance. The tenderness, care, and thoughtfulness they have for each other is definitely worth emulating. There's fear and faith, sin and forgiveness, reconciliation, renewal, and love shown in this story. I highly recommend A Time for Everything series. I got my copy through KU.

Words cannot explain how much I loved this series. So many of the books I read are more about young love. This author captures the love between mature couples who have known sadness and heartbreak but are given another chance to love and be loved. People who know first of all the love of God and experience His hand in bringing joy into their lives. Even when problems arise in their families their trust in their heavenly Father brings peace. This author has been a tremendous blessing in every book. I am in my seventies and relate to the stories and feel I know these families.

Absolutely fantastic!!!!

Juliette, your writing is so uplifting and heart warming that I read through the whole series without stopping. I laughed, I cried, I felt every not and every heart ache. Your references to Bible verses and the prayers you included can be used by many for their own life experiences.
Thank you for bringing these stories to us.
My wife wants me to let you know that as a man I thoroughly enjoy your romance stories. You keep them so clean and real. Bless you!!!

This is the 4th and final book in the series by Juliette. It's a continuation of the story of Wendy and Bruce and their families. I love the way that Juliette brings religion into her stories. And, this one is no different. I won't spoil the story for those that haven't read it yet, but I do recommend that you read it. There are some unexpected happenings that make the story more believable. I really felt like I knew each of the characters when I finished. Read this book. You won't regret it.

Wendy and Bruce’s story is truly inspirational. They are always there to help their families. When Wendy comes to Texas she is overwhelmed by how Bruce’s children take care of her and their family. The author will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

A Time for Everything Series Boxset Books 1-4 from Juliette Duncan is a very moving heartwarming clean romance. It is a well-written novel with subjects that move you deeply. People's love for each other and their faith are deeply moving. They are great characters that you will really love and it is a shame when the book is out because you don't really want to say goodbye to them. Juliette duncan surpasses herself with these great Christian series.

Such a heartfelt story of the trials of addiction, a dire diagnosis and the trials of family and faith. Faith is what holds this family together and shows how God works in mysterious ways. Miracles happen and to God be the glory. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

Wonderful series and this final book did not disappoint me. The families in these books faced many of the issues families are facing today. And just like real life not everything turns out perfect. I would definitely recommend this series.

A Superb book!
Bruce and Wendy face challenges in the last book of this series, most of which take time, and God’s intervention, to make the difference. It is an easy read, though emotional and heart-rendering at times; but you will be glad, when you are finished reading! Don’t miss it!

This is the final book to this series and was not a disappointment. I love the way this story of the challenges faced by older people who marry and bring two families together is presented. It faces moral issues in an honest, real, truthful and gracious manner.

Great series

I enjoyed all 4 books in the series. A time to rejoice ended in a crescendo so loud I almost cried. Beautiful storyline portraying the reality of the life of a believer, not pat stories of happily ever after that is not realistic. Kudos.

This was an excellent 3rd book in the series. It was just as captivating as the other ones. It kept you in suspense all the way through. You didn't want to put it down till you found out what happened.

It’s always sad when a series I love comes to an end. Juliette isn’t afraid to go into the sinful or tragic parts of life. The redeeming grace of Jesus is always presented in her stories as her characters go through the trials and tribulations of daily life.

My review is not influenced by the fact I received an ARC of the book.

An interesting ending to this series. Love, babies, restoration, this story has it all, and I highly recommend. Most important lesson: Forgiveness begins with self.
