A vampire's bite sucks, but it's also quite powerful...

When Las Vegas Paranormal Police Chief Ian Dex is injected with a healthy dose of vampire venom, he gains access to power like he's never known. He's faster, stronger, and his ability to do magic is on the rise, too.

The problem is that he's becoming too powerful. That makes him a target, and there is no shortage of people who'd love to see the Vegas police chief pushing up daisies.

But it gets worse...

The venom has made Ian grumpy, demanding, and dark. Normally, this would be fine, but Rachel Cress is finding his newfound brooding angst to be rather sexy indeed. When he growls and roars, she coos and melts.

Chicks, man.

But it turns out the venom has infected more people than just Ian Dex. It's surging through supernaturals all over the Vegas Strip.

Translation: someone is building a venomous army.

Ian and his crew have to stop them before the Strip sinks into a hedonistic blood bath. If that happens, all bets are off.

The question is how long Ian can hold out before his mind is consumed...

If you like Jim Butcher, Domino Finn, Michael Anderle, M. D. Massey, Rick Gualtieri, Orlando A. Sanchez, K.F. Breene, Shayne Silvers, Ilona Andrews, Brad Magnarella, Patricia Briggs, or Kim Harrison...you'll have a blast with the sixth book in the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department.

kindle unlimited, Ian Dex -- Amalgamite, Chief of the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department {LVPPD}, Amalgamite: mix of Mage, Vampire, WereWolf, Pixie, Djinn, Fae; powers limited overall due to mix, mix them all together, cause them all to come out somehow, play Duck Duck Dex. A team that includes 1 Amalgamite, 1 Wizard, 1 Vampire healer, another vampire, 3 mages, a Pixie, a Werewolf, a Werebear Coroner, and backup if need be from other states and countries all the way to England with more of the same and 2 succubi males, and at times some helpful Djinn.

LVPPD has fought Uber Werewolfs, Uber Vampires, Uber Pixie, minion werewolfs & vampires & fae & pixies & zombies & skeletons, demons, Succubus females, a mage thrown in here and there, & had to go through all that and more in the 7 levels of {sort of} Dante's Hell. All, mostly, under the watchful eyes of The Directors composed of Mage, Vampire, WereWolf, and Pixie who are telling them much of nothing. Now Ian Dex is not telling them everything he's finding out about his Changes.

Vampire venom. Enhanced supernaturals. An amalgamite tasting true power. When vampire venom mixes with Las Vegas Paranormal Police Chief Ian Dex, he gains access to power like he's never known. But it seems that someone is bent on having him killed for it, and Ian is struggling to figure out who he can trust. It gets even worse when his partner, Rachel Cress, starts finding Ian's new demanding attitude to be rather sexy indeed… To stop the spread of enhanced powers to supers on the Strip, Ian and his crew have to find the dude responsible and take him down. With the fate of the Strip hanging in the balance, failure is not an option…

I have always wondered through Ian Dex's novels and short stories, what was the purpose of being an amalgamite. Yes he has super speed and strength, but it never seemed to amount to the same as a normal vampire or thrope. The only thing that really seemed super was his stamina in bed. But the power words he used were limited and they really didn't always follow a rhyme or reason. Now he has all of his powers working fully, magic, speed, strength, and jokes?! Really that is in full effect too. I loved it, I finally got to see Ian at Uber capacity, using all of his powers to fight the bad guys. As usual the bad guys are a force on themselves, how Ian treats them and gets over on them, always my favorite for a laugh. The only down side to this book to me has been the only one for a few books lately, Rachel. Her jealousy in the previous books has been a little hard to take because it doesnt really fit her character, and maybe that is the reason why it's in there. But her horniness was aggravating at best. I understood that the thrope females and males were feeling Ian's pheromones. but Rachel was just irritating as h...

Dex can do what now?! More fantastically funny urban fantasy :-)
This fantastically funny urban fantasy series about Ian Dex and his team in the Las Vegas Paranormal Police Department started with The Merging, was even better in Grave Creatures, yet better again in Blood Bane Tower, went across the Pond for an adventure in London Growl, went up against purple dinosaurs in Swarm of Fire and now able to ...well you wouldn't believe me if I told you so it’ll be better to read it for yourself?! The whole team are fun, sarcastic and neither perfect nor pc. There is a great mixture of laugh out loud humour, action and storyline in this addictive series which kept me wanting to read more even though I knew I had to get up early for work in the morning?! I am enjoying seeing this great series developing and absolutely cannot wait to read more!

Ian Dex is in deep again. Attacked and bitten by a vampire, his already tremendous powers in dramatically. Magic, strength, agility, all increase. But there are other things happening. He's not the only one who has new powers and size. New vampires are on the street and they are out to make an army. Trying to hide his new skills, it takes a while for him to tell Rachel, his girlfriend. Now they must try to find the vampire who has the venomous fangs and stop his making new vampires. Excellent read. Full of humor, that balances out the "blood and guts" of the story, the reader is swept away on a Ian Dex fix that leaves one wanting more, more, more. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Awesome storytelling!

Ian Dex is back and he's been bitten by a vampire. Which, in Ian's case, isn't as bad as you might think. Mostly. Ok, sort of.

Ian and his PPD team take on werebears, pixies, goblins, a djinn, and a bunch of nasty vampires. On the way they're helped by a lot of other djinn, some sexy Valkyries, and the Queen of the Demons.

What more could you ask for? Ian is starting to dig into the happenings that have begun to crop up in Las Vegas. It's a mystery that few who appear to have answers are willing to help him solve.

This one has to be the craziest one so far. Well, the last one was pretty must too, cuz the Joke Off was something else. But this one was all over the place with his new powers, it was great. Got used to the talking cock, which was new and just enjoyed the wild ride. Wish the next one wasn't the last one (so far, I hope for more?)! Will definitely read the spin-off series and check out the authors other books.

A new 'uber' causing problems.
After being bitten by a vampire Ian's different DNA enhancements go crazy!
Who knew having fangs made you lisp?
Thinking I want to be ...... makes that super's ability come into play, sometimes!
Ian is on the edge as he can't control what is happening to him, can't get the answers he needs.
Have a read and see where the powers lead him.

Just when I think I have a favorite in this series, I find out I'm wrong!

Curse or Fangs blew me away. Ian has been bitten by a vampire, and everything he has ever known or could do becomes wonky.

The mixture of action and humor had me glued to this story..and the ending? O.M.G. Cannot wait until the next book comes out!

It’s all coming together (evil laugh)

What can I say at this point? If you are here you like the series, or want to be a rebel and start at book 6. Either way, read it and then do something else with the rest of your life. Maybe read another book at some point? These are just suggestions.

When the going gets tough, the tough get Ian Dex

After everything that Ian has went through with the Uber Supernaturals invading LA, it becomes personal when even our favourite Chief of Police becomes ensnared and suddenly the team has a new problem?

An excellent read as when the going gets tough the tough get even meaner

The latest Ian Dex novel and, (dare I say?), the best yet! We’ve seen glimpses of Ian’s powers up until now but in Curse of Fangs they really come out to play. Role reversal, plot twists, clever funny storytelling, this book has it all and will have you invested in the characters and craving more of their story. I highly recommend you read this entertaining book!

Pie

Ian Dex has to reconsider his Amalgamite stays in this situation. Things are getting weirder by the day. And will he ever get his burrito?
Jump on this story before everything changes!

I love this series and John Logsdon’s writing style, it seems so effortless that I know he slaves away to get things just right.

This is the sixth book in the Ian Dex series and it is just as good as the first book This one Dex finds himself getting in touch with his inner Dex, literally. Seems all of his DNA is coming to party with him and thanks to the latest Uber. And with a little help from the Djinn things get interesting.

Loved the book, can't wait for the next one.

Drop everything and read

As we follow Ian Dex through another intriguing turn of events, we see roles reverse and things get interesting when new powers and secrets emerge. I must say, from start to finish this book kept me on the edge of my seat and tears of laughter in my eyes. You must read this book, because you will appreciate this series even more!

Another great adventure from the guys and girls of the Las Vegas paranormal police department. These books just get better and better. This time there’re after a renegade vampire. Will the team triumph yet again or have they finally met their match. You’ll have to read this fast paced action comedy to find out.

Number 6 in the series of Ian Dex novels and finally we're finding out a bit more about how the amalgamite supercop really ticks, thanks to a nasty bite from a vampire that brings out Ian's bad side - and hith fangth. Really funny and a great storyline as ever, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts hilariously. After an attack interrupts his quest for munchies, Ian's powers unlock to a ridiculous degree. The results had me laughing raucously while mowing through the pages to see what's next. Best book yet in the series.

Always an interesting read, great characters but a bit disjointed at times. It's interesting and fun to learn more of this world and I look forward to more of the same in the future.

Once again, another awesome read. I love the interplay between the characters and I have snorted pop out of my nose when I have read some of the insults that Ian unleashes. I've also timed finishing this book just right as book seven was released today and I can get it on KindleUnlimited 😉

Exciting

Ian 2.0! Complete with Toothy Lisp! It’s been fun hearing about Ian’s capabilities, and seeing them peek through at opportune times. It’s even more fun to see them, and humorous to see everyone’s reactions to them. Especially Ian. Fun stuff! Recommended.
