The fae queen is beautiful. Too bad it's only skin deep...

Temperance is the queen of the fae. After tasting true power at the hands of an evil mage, she's bent on ruling the Netherworld. She wants it all...and she wants it now.

The chief of the Netherworld PPD calls all hands on deck to fight this new threat. But there's a problem. Piper and Payne are Retrievers, which means they have no jurisdiction in the Netherworld. Worse, their trainees, Officers Brazen and Kix, have been kidnapped by the fae. Even more fun, they get assigned a stoned wizard who has a serious case of the munchies.

Piper & Payne have to break the rules and sneak into Faeland if they're to stop all of this.

Getting caught is not an option, and failure means the end of the Netherworld as they know it.

It's a shame there's a psychopathic torturer who has other plans for them...

If you like Jim Butcher, Domino Finn, Michael Anderle, M. D. Massey, Rick Gualtieri, Orlando A. Sanchez, K.F. Breene, Shayne Silvers, Ilona Andrews, Brad Magnarella, Patricia Briggs, or Kim Harrison...you'll have a blast with the third book in the Netherworld Paranormal Police Department.

Another wonderful book by these authors and I enJoyed it thoroughly. This time Piper and Reaper are on their way into the Fae city to rescue Kix and Brazen from their clutches. Unfortunately they wind up on relying on Meth, a wizard who is a failure at most things and is devoted to food. A mess up and Meth is in need of rescuing too. Temperance, the leader of the fae and her personal torturer are the lead evil beings in this story and they add depth and interest as the reader follows the heroes on their new adventure. Agnes, Reaper's turtle has got a bigger part in the story and Pecker keeps up his sexual innuendos to Piper. Keller is still on the loose and creating the havoc and chaos that Piper and Reaper finds themselves in. Good, bad, torture, kidnapping, all combine to make for an excellent read. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Another fantastically funny paranormal police department series
This is the 3rd book (1st being blood crossed) of the fantastically funny urban fantasy series about Piper and Payne from the Netherworld Paranormal Police Department which is linked to, but still works if you haven't read, the Ian Dex series which started with The Merging. The humour is there from the start and the Netherworld team are all the better for being fun, sarcastic and neither perfect nor pc. There is a great mixture of laugh out loud humour, action, storyline and getting to know Piper, Reap and others around them including Reap’s talking pet turtle Agnes. This is another addictive series which keeps me wanting to read more even though I know I have to get up early for work in the morning?!

kindle unlimited, keeping up with the writer{s} {book} delusions, it amuses me, which says a lot about both them and me, but whatever.

Netherworld riots. A wizard stoner. Retrievers who are out of their jurisdiction.

When Temperance, the leader of the fae, teams up with an evil mage, Officers Piper Shaw and Reaper Payne have to put it all on the line to stop them. But Temperance has tasted true power, and she's hell bent on dominating the entirety of the Netherworld...

The team has to break into Faeland, sneak through pristine forests, suffer at the hands of a psychopathic torturer, and fight to protect the PPD precinct. But first they'll need to break out their trainees, Officers Brazen and Kix, who have been kidnapped and taken to a dimensional cube. Worse, they've had to solicit the aid of a wizard who has a serious case of the munchies...

I love that Logsdon and Young usually comes up with a story that entertains me because of how funny the characters are as they escape harrowing circumstances. I have found their compilations to be witty and fast paced, that is what I expect and that is what I get every time. Not this time, though.
Deathly Temperance definitely took a dark turn. And all I can say is wow! The jokes are still there with Agnes becoming a secondary character instead of just a pet that is mentioned once and awhile. Loved the depth that was added to both main characters and the development of the secondary characters. I ate this book up in a couple of hours because I didn't want to wait to find out what happend next.

The latest in the Piper and Reaper adventures, Kix and Brazen are back, but now we add a hot dog addicted wizard and a talking turtle, which everyone can hear, but Piper which leads to a lot of interesting events.

This time they are up against Temperance, the leader of the fae, only she been guilted by Keller, and she is not happy about it and plans to take it out on everyone. Add her secret admirer, who has a love of torture and you have a fun time for all.

Really a great read, can't wait for the next book and to see what Agnes is up to.

It got Serious

A great instalment in the Piper and Payne, we see a bit more humanity from Payne and we find out why we dimont want to upset Piper as she shows why shes the best retriever in town and as personal history rears its head she takes the gloves off as riots, uncooperative wizards and untouchable Fae soon find it doesnt pay to mess with what you can't handle

Full of action and hilarity. As we progress through Keller's villainous master plan, we still have no clue what shape it will take. But, it's definitely fun going along for the ride beside Piper & Reaper. Only downside, I suddenly crave a hot dog.

Hug the Turtle!

What should I put here? Read the first two books before you read this one. If you liked them you’ll like this. More character development and world exploration and fun interactions between characters.

Some books could easily be reviewed with two or three words, such as "cracking story', or 'what a ride!', but for this one I think the ideal words are:
HUG THE TURTLE!
Read the book and you'll understand why.

Another good story, still not as good as the Dex series, but still raunchy and funny. Instead of a horny dude and a foul-mouthed pixie, in this series you get dick jokes cuz there's a dude named Pecker, and a talking turtle. Yes, turtle. :/ Weird, but works.

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Quite honestly the best torture scene ever. Piper is a real badass and loves to shout her mouth off. The series is getting better with each book

Piper and Payne have a new case, this one is with Temperance the Fae Queen, technically Piper and Payne have no jurisdiction on the case but since members of her crew get kidnapped, some “adjustments” have to be made. As always fun and excitement go together with plenty of attitude. Love how you get to find more background story for both main characters as you go.
