Publisher's summary

An experiment in terror pushed him to his limits, but now Subject B is fighting back. His name is Marcus Holt. He is a fighter, a survivor, and a decorated combat veteran. But to the sadistic professor Abel Worthe, Marcus is known merely as "Subject B" - a pawn in the scientist’s inhumane experiments. Worthe is an expert in the study of death and fear. And he intends to push Marcus to the limits of human endurance.

Trapped in the shadowy streets of a haunted village, Marcus and his young friend Alex must deal with a new threat: the ghost of a vicious murderer who kills with a bloody mason’s hammer. Their task is made even harder when two new subjects, a bickering couple, are added to their group, drawing the wrathful spirit right to them.

As Marcus and the others struggle against this supernatural horror, Professor Worthe observes the psychological effects of their extreme terror. But Marcus Holt is a soldier. And he’s not going down without a fight.

Professor Worthe is about to learn that a caged animal is the most dangerous subject of all....

Great

Excellent narration and well written stories. Scare Street horror stories are great and the Ron Ripley ones are the best.

The Screams Continue

Book two of this series did not disappoint! I loved the first book, and the second was just as good.

Marcus and Alex have been doing their best to stay alive, battling the ghosts as needed in the village. However, their dynamic is about to change, as a new home with a new ghostly resident is moved in, and a newly married couple is abducted and held for the new ghost.

With a few twists and turns thrown in, this was a great read!

Done done it again wow great read and Abel is really starting to get on my last nerve though I am learning a little bit more about him and seeing what makes him tick. I was happy to see Shane though and was glad to see a bond between Marcos and Alex and an glad Elaine is still around as well check out the series you won't be sorry you did.

Bonus Chapters!!

It really needs a bonus chapter, much like his other books, where we learn more about the ghosts life, and death. Hoping book 3 has this most favourite aspect!

I love Ron Ripley’s Books!

A great second book to the series. Essentially the series is about a (crazy) man named Able Worthe who moves haunted houses to his personally created village in the middle of no where. He is doing a study on fear, so as well as moving the houses he also kidnaps people and places them in the village to see how they will react to the ghosts in the houses and just generally being captives. I love Ron Riley’s ability to really get you to know the characters, especially Marcus Holts with some flashback type stories. I wouldn’t say this is a keep you up at night scary book but it is a fantastic take on ghosts! There is so much Ron can do with this series, bringing in ghosts with all types of crazy murderous backgrounds. I also think Thom Bowers does a great job narrating! Would definitely recommend this series to anyone interested in the supernatural/horror scene!

A great scary story

This is the 2nd book in the Haunted Village series. It focuses on another house the Able Worthe (a psycho) adds to his collection. The storyline is starting to get darker. The main characters are a husband and wife who are kept in a container until the house is ready. You have a ghost that likes to kill with a hammer. This book has enough blood and gore along with scary ghosts to keep you on the edge of your seat. This book leaves you wanting more yet it is not a cliffhanger. Thom Bowers does a great job with narration. I recommend this book.

Amazing!!

I listened to this ages ago but forgot to review it....(well i thought I had but obviously not!!!) Anyway, book 2 sees the overall plot starting to get darker and it's even better than the first.

The haunted town has two new inhabitants in the form of a husband and wife duo who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. They are being kept in a container till the house they will enter is ready and Marcus is determined to help them if he can. As I said, the plot of this is darker and things happen that made me shudder because it shows that humans can be just as nasty as anything out there. Also the ghost in this case likes to kill with a hammer, need I say more!!

As with all of Ron Ripley's books, this was amazing. It's fast paced, creepy and intense. Able Worthe is a psycho and I don't think I could hate him anymore than I already do!! I'm loving that we are seeing more of the people who work for him too. Those characters are hard to figure out but it's nice to see an insight into some of them. I'm also loving Marcus and his friendship with Alex.

In all, this series is starting to become a favourite of mine. I'm intrigued to see where it's going and can't wait to read more.

Thom Bowers is as amazing as always. I remember listening to him way back when ;) and listening to him now shows how much he has grown as a narrator. He has such an amazing array of voices for the characters and always brings the atmosphere to life.

I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This in no way affected nor influenced my thoughts.
