Publisher's summary

Fourteen-year-old Dylan Reynolds is anything but happy when his parents decide to move the family to Traverse City, Michigan. Suddenly friendless and angry, Dylan decides to run away from home, and has a chance encounter with a traveling hypnotist.

The hypnotist, a pompous man who calls himself Dr. Dark, is more than willing to show Dylan forgotten details about his past. But Dylan’s world is turned upside down when he recalls a memory of himself when he was a baby, seated next to another toddler who looks exactly like him.

Confronting his parents, Dylan learns that he was born an identical twin, and that his brother, Derek, drowned when they were little. Dylan is shocked by the news, but is even more shocked when Derek’s ghost suddenly begins to appear in his bedroom each night, eager to bond with the brother that had long forgotten him.

However, Derek isn’t the friendly ghost Dylan assumes him to be. As Dylan learns more about his dead twin, he quickly realizes he’s missing a crucial link in his brother’s story - a link darker than anyone can imagine....

I can relate to this story...

And to the main character, Dylan. But when things spiral out of control - everyone is struggling to understand just what is happening in their home. I haven't read this author before and she wove a good story.

The Twin

I’m so glad this is now on audible and cannot wait for The Gatekeeper and Grave Games come out as it is 1st of 3 book series and listening is better than reading (more dramatic). Dylan is a 14yr distress boy who moved to new town runs away and meets up with Dr. Dark a hypnotist which make him believe he has identical twin (Dereck) a ghost from his past but Dereck is not friendly as he thought and changing his calm likable self causing to do or think things. His parents seek help by sending him to psychologist but who really helps him is Becky (the secretary) who recommends Father O’Brien. Just listen you won’t regret but want the next book ASAP, has good narration.

I always wanted a twin, but maybe not so much now.

What would you do if you found out you had a twin that died when you were little, and your parents never spoke of? It poses an interesting question. I highly recommend this read.

Good listen!

I enjoyed this book. I did not see that twist coming midway through- no spoilers, but I’m sure you’ll know what I mean when you read/listen to it. The story is about a teen boy forced to move away with his parents to a new town. He gets hypnotized and doing so brings forward a memory from his past that unwinds a hidden ‘secret’ from his family’s past. While coming to grips with this discovery things get pretty intense as he is faced with a ghost who visits him every night, but things may not be all that they seem! Check it out, characters are well written and the story is alluring. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a not so typical ghost story with a bit of mystery.

Awesome Story!

Wow! I have been on the Edge of my seat since I started. Loved that His Parents were brought into instead of not hearing him at all. The Story Was Great, the Narrator was Also Great! On way to the Next Book in Series...

Good Story

Nothing like a good old demon battle horror story before you go to sleep. Really looking forward to book 2. Narration very good. Great demon voices.
