There's true power in binding. Too bad it's super weird...
Evangeline's goal of surviving long enough to reclaim House Sinister is getting tougher every day, but the teachings given to her by Garrick forces her to take risks she would otherwise avoid.

The Black Ops Paranormal Police Department has learned that Salem is in charge of the local mob, and they've been tasked with assassinating him. That sounds easy enough on the face of it, but Salem is no fool. Getting to the top of a crime syndicate is not easy, and he's protected himself nicely. Plus, he's loaded with trigger-happy goons who rather enjoy inflicting pain and death.

To make matters worse, there's only one way Eve can build the strength needed to destroy Salem. She'll have to bind with Kayson. The problem is that there hasn't been a hellion bound with a hellwolf since the Old War, over one hundred years ago. That means they have no clue how to manage their new situation, and it's not like there's a user's manual.

But they need the power.

And they'll need even more than that, if they're to succeed. Seeing that Eve can't let the innocents of Los Angeles fall under the oncoming rash of drugs planned by Salem and his goons, she binds with Kayson and the world immediately changes.

Unfortunately, there's a particular hellion named Andras who happens to also have his eye on Salem's enterprise. Seeing it as the perfect stepping stone for allowing him to finally kill Eve, he makes his move against the Los Angeles crime boss at the same time as the Black Ops PPD.

So what happens when two hellions want the same thing, and both are willing to do anything to get it?

All hell breaks loose, of course...

If you like BR Kingsolver, Shannon Mayer, Jayne Faith, or Shayne Silvers...you're in for one hell of a ride with the action-packed, adrenaline-pumping, snark-loaded world of Sinister, created by bestselling authors John P. Logsdon and Christopher P. Young.

What readers are saying about the Sinister and the Black Ops PPD:

★★★★★ ‘Snarky dialogue! Inventive invective! Action and a strong plot!’

★★★★★ ‘An excellent read, an excellent new series and a new heroine. What more could you ask for?’

★★★★★ ‘This book was a bit of a change from the standard PPD books. It gave a much more intimate look to the politics and life in the Badlands, but also introduced a new way of looking at the interactions between Hellion Houses. It still has much of the humor and snark that the PPD series is known for, but these new elements add just a little more.’

★★★★★ ‘The authors do a skillful job of presenting this fresh and riveting take on the urban fantasy genre with an interesting, independent and highly skilled hero who is a badass at kicking ass.’

★★★★★ ‘Evangeline is an amazing character. This book draws you into a world that is uniquely different than our regular earth yet it is has interesting parallels to the world she came from. She is one kickass survivor that gives gives lessons in how to be able to live and understand yourself.’

Logsdon and his team of rockin' co-authors has brought laughs to hundreds of thousands of readers over various book series. The goal is simple: write stories for mature people who harbor seriously immature thoughts...

Another awesome book

Reading these is like hanging out with a bunch of 13 year old boys only with a plot line. I love these books.

Snarky, exciting book with a headstrong heroine. Fantastic!

Unsactified is a 'kick butt, take no prisoners" kind of book. It continues the story of Evangeline as she fights to uphold the teachings of her mentor, and to also take on her various enemies. This story is irreverent, with a sarcastic humor, and a strong heroine who fights with swords, magic, and a core of strength that runs deep within her. You are captivated from the start of the book and are catapulted into the world of hellions from the very beginning. I was unable to put this book down and am waiting with bated breath for the next one.

The authors of this series has done it again. We are dug deeper into Eves world as she now knows it. The Black Ops are after the mob big time and Eve, Kayson and Q have created havoc on each mission, but succeeding none-the-less. Andras is ready to take over the world as soon as he gets rid of Eve. Trickery, secrets, unexpected bondings, zombies, a new hunk in Eve's life, dark witches and big decisions to make all make for a page turner of a book that is engrossing and keeps you wanting more. I hope the next one is already on the tip of their finger as they hit the keyboard. An excellent read and series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Better than the first in the series, Unsanctified has seriously exceeded my expectations. It has the humor we’ve all come to know and love in any PPD series, yet it also has some darker undertones we’ve not seen before. Evangeline, Kayson and Q have great chemistry as a team, even tho one is a douchenozzle ;). They overcome unbeatable odds yet still find themselves worse off than they were in the last book. Full of action, epic love (ok maybe just lust), and lots of laughs. Go read this ASAP. You can thank me later.

Eve's dodging of the twisted Hellion politics takes a dire turn, but that should be expected when your brand of "witness protection" is working for the Black Ops PPD. Tasked with taking out the newly revealed mob boss, Salem, she unknowingly sets forth on a collision course with Andras' and crew, who are working with the same intel from the opposite direction. Her only course may be a little bonding. No, not like that.
Twisted, hilarious, and full of the crazy action that is becoming the wonderfully high stakes norm for the Sinister series.

Fantastic!!!!

Prepare yourself for the second instalment of the sinister series. If you thought the characters couldn't get any funnier, witter or downright hilarious, then you would be wrong! Evangeline, Kayson and Q (maybe not him as much 😂) are on another case. Throw in murderous hellions, trying yet again to assinate her, a talking cat and you get this can't put down, action packed, laugh until you cry book. There is nothing not to love about this book!

Book 2 if this series is even better than book 1, how is that even possible?
We meet Peggy and Hal, and Ross, and learn more about Cruze and orcy orcy porky porky. Great well rounded characters, team building, plot twists, action and unexpected relationships. Eve the hellion and her ensemble are memorable. Cannot wait for book 3! Read the book, you will be glad you did ! Highly recommended

A fantastic continuation from book one - Magnificent!

The plot continues to build with plenty of action, fun & games.
The roles & natures of the characters are built up superbly, with a number of 'unexpected surprises' that apart from adding to the story, they bring a large smile / laugh to the reader as well.

Once you start reading this book, you won't want to put it down!!...'I look forward to book 3!!

Eve and her team must now battle the Mob and stop the drugs that are killing innocents. Only problem, the Hellion who's here to kill her and finish wiping out House Sinister? Has decided to take over the Mob himself, at the same time the black ops team is attacking... This is not going to end well for someone, maybe all someones. A must read book, set in the P.P.D. world. I think it's the best series the authors have written to date

Another hit from Logsdon. The character development in this series is just as excellent as all of the others in the PPD family. The tongue in cheek hilarity writing makes this an excellent lighthearted read. I love the world this book is set in and Logsdon is an incredible world builder. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series.

So Loving this ssries

This may be the best yet as PPD goes Black Ops and a Hellion on the run starts a chain of events that bring a whole world of trouble upside.
With impressive magic and deadly skill , Hellwolf , Shamen Orcs amongst others there is a lot for this series to elaborate on and give plenty of further reading.

The second book in Eves life really heats up her finding her stride so to speak. This book opens up many avenues and twists as the “team” is unveiled by that it means you start seeing their individual capabilities and stories. They all seamlessly start coming together developing an intriguing storyline that keeps the reader guessing and the team becoming a true Black Opps force to be dealt with.

Brilliant

I think Unsanctified, the second book in the Sinister series, is even better than the first. We are getting to know more about Evangeline, the other members of the Black Ops team and the other characters, as the story progresses and it has me gripped. I love it and I believe you will too.

She's back! Kicking ass and staying alive! Evangeline is back in the second installment of Black Ops PPD. She's fighting the mob, hellions, and anyone else that stands in her way. Staying alive for House of Sinister and revenge keeps getting harder, but so does she! Find out if she comes out on top!

Ok this is the instalment 2 for the Black Ops PPD and I am loving it! Yes it’s different from many of the other precincts in this universe but that’s a brilliant thing. We all like a little from the shadows, cloak and dagger right?

The second book about Eve, a hellion occupying the body of a human heiress, and her team: one of the few remaining hellwolves and a jobsworth vampire. Not only she having trouble with the mob, there's a crack team of hellions out to wipe her out. It's funny and fast paced: great fun!

A fun series

The story continues on, and has taken some turns that were unexpected. It’s fun and sassy with a lack of giant information dumps that some series will do if you haven’t been following in order. Over all enjoyable

Very entertaining

The second book of the series has the stakes getting higher for the Black Ops PPD. New characters mean new relationships, and changes to existing relationships. The battle is getting bigger and badder, so our heroes may have to as well.

Hellions and mobsters and and decent banter.

Check out this book if you like a snarky heroine and a smart mouth partner. The world building is coming along and background on main characters is helping them grow. I'm picking up the next one after this review.
