I normally do not read about Australia but this was set there. It was refreshing to read a book that did not have sex involved! The story line was wonderful for my biologist heart as was the romance. I want to read more of Ms. Duncan's books!

Found this rather superficial and glib. Everything happened too easily, Callum coming to faith, his getting out of the army. Even his battle with PSTD is essentially dealt with in one sentence in the epilogue.

This was an amazing book. Dealing with the military in a book, especially with a Christian theme, can be very difficult. You can honestly make arguments both ways and I really think things come down to the heart and convictions given by God. I think the sides given in this book came out slightly different from how I've seen them before, but I also think that it was really well done. There wasn't really condescension, just an inner change. These characters and situations made for a great story. I look forward to the next book in this series.

This book is very uplifting and realistic. Love can be full of happiness and joy but also you can experience sadness and despair. But if you open your heart to love the benefits are well worth it. This book reminds me of this.
I highly recommend reading it.

I did receive an advanced copy of the book and the review is mine voluntarily.

I enjoyed this Christian Romance. It was honest, truthful and inspiring. The relationship between the two MC's was sweet and rather remarkable. I particularly enjoyed reading about Callum's conversion and his struggles with PTSD. Each of these were well-executed, with an HEA, of course. 5☆

Refreshing

I’m a fan of Christian romance books mainly because I always find something inspiring in the story. It is sometimes a scripture or anew perspective of life situations. This book had a simple story line but the book was good overall. Clean.

Juliette Duncan writes another socially and spiritually relevant book. Callum is a Lt. Colonel who struggles with the loss if men under his command, his purpose, his faith it lack thereof and if it's been worth giving up all he had to remain in the Army. Fleur is the widow of a man who was under Callum's command. It's been the years and she's settled into a working routine and raising get two children. When the two meet, the chemistry is undeniable. But Callum is not a believer and Fleur will only be friends. She invited him to church and so Callum starts on the road to discovering God and His redemption, His grace, His healing and His forgiveness. But just as things seem to be going song smoothly, God places an obstacle before him. I strongly encourage you to read this romance that also includes the importance of prayer and trusting God in all areas of your life.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Title: A beautiful story of love and redemption!
Callum Westaway decides to take some breathing space after years of fighting in the Middle East, and opts for training new recruits. He still fights nightmares, and questions whether he wants to quit, or not. However, he finds he enjoys helping train the recruits. When Fleur Gibbons bumps into him, downtown, and he asks if she would join him for coffee. She is first reluctant, but decides something about his facial expressions makes her say “yes.” Her husband was killed during an attack, a few years prior, under Westaway’s command. She is drawn to him, yet feeling a kind of connection that she’s unsure of. Juliette Duncan is a great writer, and this is another top notch book, with scriptures and interaction between characters that help others. I’m highly recommending this book to others!

A beautifully written military romance. Callum battles nightmares, self-doubt, PTSD, etc. and then runs into a beautiful woman--Fleur--a widow of 1 of the men under his command in combat. The story that evolves, their hesitation in dating and becoming involved is told sweetly in this clean romance. 2 adorable children who were very young when their father died in battle also come into the picture. I love how Fleur prays for Callum, knowing since he's a non-Christian, she cannot be unequally yoked or romantically involved. And then slowly we see how prayers are answered. I highly recommend this book. Can't wait for the next book in this new series! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.

Things to Ponder

Callum is taking time away from Active Duty for awhile in order to rest from war for awhile. He is going to teach new recruits and help prepare them for battle. He begins to have nightmares about the things he witnessed. But he also has an encounter with the beautiful widow of one of one of his former soldiers under his command. He invited Fleur to go to coffee with him. But she's a believer while he has so many questions of "Why so much killing in the world?" "Why so much suffering?" And more. He finds out that he doesn't want to ever go back to war. Fleur is conflicted about Callum, but soon realized that Callum is at a spiritual cross road. She begins to pray for him. It is truly an interesting story with some surprises in store.

Juliette Duncan’s book: Because We Loved
Fleur is busy raising Lucy and Will and doesn’t expect to find another man to love. Callum is surprised when he runs into Fleur it has been years since he saw her last. It is amazing how Fleur helps Callum in this book. This book is truly a inspirational story that you can’t stop reading. I had the honor to review this book for the author. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could. Juliette Duncan is a amazing Christian author. Each of her books just keep getting better and better. I am honored and blessed to be able to review for her.

As Callum tries to find a new normal after being injured in the war, he has to face the toll it has taken on his emotional well being. As if that isn't enough, he has to make sense out of the feelings that are developing with Fleur and her children. It's not an easy adjustment for either of them. I felt it was a realistic view as each of them try to put their lives back together. It quickly grabbed my attention and kept me interested until I breathed a contented sigh as the story came to a satisfying conclusion. I love that this all happened within a Christian focus.
I received this book from the publisher & am voluntarily sharing my thoughts on it.

Juliette Duncan writes another wonderful love story. Lt. Cl Callum Westaway is training recruits after years of fighting in the Middle East and learning he enjoys teaching, however, he is plagued with night dreams of terror. Fleur Gibbons’ husband was under Lt. Cl. Callum’s watch when he was killed. She is the mother of two children. Can these two people who just happen to meet in their small town grow to love one another with their own difficult backgrounds? I received this as an ARC for writing an honest review.

This is my favorite of Juliette Duncan's books that I've had the pleasure to read. They're all good, but I just absolutely loved this one. I enjoyed reading about Callum and Fleur's romance, about Callum's coming to faith, and about Fleur's living out her faith. There were several serious issues addressed--losing men in battle, PTSD, grieving a spouse, not dating an unbeliever; and yet, the book is uplifting and encouraging. I highly recommend it to readers of clean/wholesome romance and to Christian romance readers. I obtained my copy through KU.

I love that this story is a faith filled story about a needed relationship with Christ in the middle of it all. I loved watching Callum's need for GOD being fulfilled. I loved watching Callum & Fleur heal both in the ways GOD intended. I loved that God is with them every step of way working out good in bad circumstances. And I loved to read about Callum's new occupation that GOD prepared him for. I loved the family orientation in this story. And I loved the quoting of the much needed Word that can be counted on by us all.

This is an easy to read book about finding love after loss. It also briefly touches on the subject of PTSD. Once again Juliette Duncan draws the readers attention to the healing and grace that comes when a person turns to God for healing. If you like books that encourage you to seek God and His working in people's lives, then you will enjoy this story. I did receive a copy of this book, but have freely chosen to give my honest opinion of the book.

Ms Duncan has again written a wonderful, faith filled book about real life. The characters, Callum and Fleur, are so realistic. The author does such a good job on really showing the emotions that the characters are feeling. And, she weaves in her Christian values. I highly recommend this book for anyone that enjoys Christian romance. You won't go wrong with this one. I was given a copy of the book but that in no way influences my review. It's all my own.

This a clean, well done story and I liked it but I didn't love it.

I found it difficult to really get into this particular storyline and I am guessing that it was because the ending appeared too obvious to me right from the beginning. The surprise factor just wasn't there.

I am a reading fan of Ms. Duncan, and recommend all her books for ages from teens and upwards. Her stories have lots of faith in action.

I received a free ARC copy of this ebook, but all opinions are my own.

Christian fiction tends to be very predictable, which I love, but was glad to see that this book was not as predictable. I liked all the twists and turns that came with the army aspect. I really liked this book, however it seemed to have different rates of speed throughout the story. I read every word of the book, but at one point I thought I had missed a chapter which is why I gave this a 4 star rating.. Overall, the relationship between Fleur and Callum was great and I enjoyed the book.

The story unfolds in a way that brings peace and hope as well as struggles to both of them! I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author.
