Turns out that mind-control drugs really suck... It was bad enough for Evangeline to spend a year running for her life. Now, she was stuck between the Houses who were hunting for her, the hellion-run mob, and an army of normals who are on a power-drug. Oh, and let's not forget the team of Directors controlling the Black Ops Paranormal Police Department...they don't give two shits about her living or dying, they just want their missions completed.
To make make matters even more fun, Andras and his merry band of asshole-hellions have taken over the mob. It provides him with a more organized way of taking out Evangeline, but it also gives him a taste of power that he's not had before. It's intoxicating.
At this point, Eve can't help but wonder if surrendering and being gutted wouldn't be the smartest choice.
It's a damn shame that all those years being mentored by Garrick had kicked her in the scruples.
Leaving the city of Los Angeles to fall under the influence of a deadly drug combination just doesn't sit well with her. Too bad that fighting against the rash of normals who are on the stuff is akin to doing battle with mindless-zombies. Not those slow, meandering type who mumble a lot, either. I'm talking the incredibly fast, ferocious kind who seriously enjoy a nice afternoon chomping on someone's throat.
But Eve has picked up the scent of something in all this, and when she unveils what she's learned, the tables begin to turn.
The worry is whether or not they'll turn before Evangeline, her team, and the city of Los Angeles gets shredded...

Really digging the continuation of the Sinister series, Unsacred. I already loved the main characters, but hearing more about their histories was great. Especially now that said histories will be coming back to bite them in the ass, assuredly with lots of hilarity and action :D MC Eve has such a good grip on her moral compass and I know this comes from her training with Garrick. His “life lessons” are amazing, and really good to think about in real life. Well, most of them are lol. And watching Q progress to be more of a team player was fantastic. And Kayson is....well, Kayson, King of the GH Station. I absolutely adore these books, mixing fantasy and humor is so refreshing. Sick of all the romantic BS out there today in urban fantasy.
Evangeline is at a ball in her honour. What could go wrong? Everything!! From the very start of this book you are gripped with the action packed story of evangeline as she tries to live a year undercover in her hosts body. This paranormal series is a must read. From the hilarious relationship between the orc Peggy and Ross. New relationships forming for Cruze. Evangeline and Kayson trying to figure out their hellion/hell hound bond, you won't want to put this book down. The insults and banter throughout, will also have you crying with laughter. A must buy!!!!
Non-stop excitement with a twist of snark. My favorite type of book.
Evangeline and her team of Black Ops PPD are back at it again, kicking butt and taking no prisoners. Unsacred is the next in the absolutely amazing Sinister series. Evangeline continues to try to stay alive and bond with her Black Ops PPD team. This book is chock full of snark, exciting adventures, and incredible fights. You'll get caught up in the intrigue of the PPD and the machinations of egos trying to fight their way to top. This is another exciting story that will have you snarling at anyone who bothers you until you get to the exciting end.
Evangeline is back and still kicking butt all while hiding in plain sight. Eve, Kayson, Q and Peggy are becoming a remarkable team and Crewe might be a part of it to. The supernatural Mob, all the Hellion houses and shady Directors, not to mention drugs are just a few of the issues Eve is dealing with. Amazing supernatural thriller. Hits the right mix of humor, action and character growth. Great storytelling by the authors and as always can not wait for the next book.
Great characters, great plot! I really love this series because the action keeps things moving along while dropping some hysterical lines. I even learned a couple of new words! Saffron is developing nicely and I can’t wait to see how she grows. And, maybe in the next book we can have a ‘blurb’ from Kay Saughn’s next book? Please?! It is so full of laughs and action, what more can you ask for except more books!
In the PPD world, there has been one constant: keep normals unaware and they're no threat to the supernaturals. Until now. With a new combo drug turning regulars who use into super zombies, the risk factor for Eve and the Black Ops crew skyrockets. Adding to the difficult situation, Eve has to navigate new team dynamics, along with new status when relating to her bosses. This combination becomes dire enough that her odds of survival actually may be higher facing the Rite of Decimation.
The hellions have taken over the mob and are using a combination of supernatural drugs to turn the locals into rampaging monsters. It's down to Eve and her team to stop them, and the Directors aren't being much help. It's a good job she's a resourceful young hellion who's bonded with a hellwolf, she needs all the power she can get to face the threats in this exciting book.
The third installment in the Sinister series rocks!! Eve is still hiding from the other hellions, but her team is coming together. Some big fights in this book, but the usual snarks roll on and on. With a setup for the next group of bad guys, I can't wait for the next one! This is a great series, my favorite PPD one yet!!
Evangeline has her hands full trying to protect the normals and her Black Ops team from the various enemies that abound in Unsacred, the third book in the brilliant Sinister series. As the story progresses, the complexities of the characters’ motivations and true nature unfolds. Action packed, funny and entertaining.
Unsacred. This is the third of this new series with Evangeline. Eve’s past life’s lessons continue to shape who she is becoming as a Black Ops PPD. Her awkwardness at times is endearing while her Badasness continues to shine and instill fear. I like the life lessons that she brings to her adventures and the “family” that she has topside. It is a great read.
Here we have Book 3 in the Sinister series. Wait, you haven’t read books 1 and 2?! You need to read those first! Set in the amazing scenery of Los Angeles, Evangeline is back and ready to face her next challenge. Mind altering drugs, another crazy adventure and more! Settle down and get lost, just for a little while.
Totally loving Eve and her kick ass attitude, and what is fast becoming my favourite action in the PPD universe. Lots of expected humour and twists that have become synonymous with the authors styles and a worthy addition to the collection.
I enjoyed this yarn, but, it did not have the level of action or tension that book number 2 had. The ending, in particular, lacked the questions that make the reader look forward to the next installment--where the questions would be answered. There are most definitely questions, but they occur earlier in the story. In particular the pursuit of Matson should be more in the last of the story. Still, a great chapter in a great series.
I am really enjoying this series. A bit of mob action, perverted pixies, even more perverted zombies, shapeshifters, Black witches and a dual sword wielding Hellion. What more could a reader ask for? And the answer to that - a heap more books in the series to be had :)
Eve, Kayson, and Q are at it again, with the help of their team. Fighting to stay alive, trying to get powerful drugs off the street, and trying to figure out the directors' angle, there's never a dull moment.
I loved it. This was a really good book. I never know what's going to happen next. I only know something is going to go wrong and it will be epic. Love it!
More players are added to the cast and our team is strengthening. Blunders are made and because of those more lives are in danger. The team is racing to thwart the threats as new alliances are formed.
The momentum is still going with these books even though some of the characters are totally scum bags and I don’t like them. I have to believe that evil with a conscious will reign over evil with out one. Huh? Well, read this one and you will see what I mean. Not one to miss. Happy reading!
The Sinister series is getting intense! I really enjoy the chemistry between the characters and the growth of a few of them. There's a few I don't care for as much as the rest, but they don't detract from the story. The humor isn't always to my taste (dick jokes and gh, etc) and I think the books would stand strong without them, but I understand it's part of how these fit into their genre and it certainly doesn't deter me from reading or wanting to snap up the next installment (I just think it fits better into their Platoon F series where the whole story arc is amusingly ludicrous with it's potty humor while still putting forth an intriguing plot)
Eve and the team are getting sick of the Black Ops PPD Directors, they so not care what happens to them as long as the missions are completed but when you have two Houses, a Crime Syndicate and their drug induced creations after you, can get pretty hairy. The way this story is being navigated and doled out is masterful and always entertaining.
