Publisher's summary

Silver Coyle thought she was doing the right thing - see something, say something. Now she finds herself kidnapped, chained to a pipe in the hull of a ship, and on a collision course with death. Her only chance of rescue is from the one man she never wants to see again - Weston Beil - the know-it-all former SEAL. He’s bossy, arrogant, and sexy all wrapped up in a tough-guy package. Untouchable. But that doesn’t stop the man from sending shivers of excitement racing down her spine.

Weston Beil didn’t want to be right, he didn’t want to say I told you so, but there it was - the beautiful Silver was caught in the middle of a drug war just like he’d warned. The woman was headstrong and stubborn. She tested his limits, pushed his buttons, and set his body on fire. Weston had a plan, he was prepared to use everything in his arsenal to prove to Silver she was his. Only there’s a glitch in Weston’s plan - Silver might not stay alive long enough for him to claim his treasure and convince her he’s fallen in love.

I Could Not Stand Silver!!!

I wish this book had focused more on the drug smugglers, how it was figured out, or anything other than Silver. I have always liked Weston, but I could not abide Silver.

Silver was the most irritating, argumentative, combative person I have had to listen to in a very long time. It was a struggle to finish. There was nothing about Silver other than her name that I liked.

I had great admiration for Weston and his ability to put up with Silver. I couldn't imagine how Weston could put up with her. I tried to take into account her childhood, but that was not enough to make her character palatable. Weston and Silver did seem to have a ton of steamy scenes, so maybe that was the basis of their relationship.

Silver was in serious need of counseling. Her behavior was so awful that I felt her character took away from the book. I do have to say that the narrators did an excellent job making Silver obnoxious, whether intentionally or unintentionally. I have to say it again. I really could not stand Silver. I would give this 2.5 stars.

I don't have books 4 - Alex or 5 - Chasin yet, so I will be jumping to Holden's book.

Westen and Silver

A cute and funny enemies to lovers story. The banter they have is amazing. Westen helping to heal emotional scares from selfish dismissive parents. Gotta love a growly bossy alpha, and a fiesty strong woman who won't let him get a way with anything lol. I want to be part of this made family so much!!.

Great story and characters

Loved the story, believable characters and the shortcomings of the personalities. Having lived in Annapolis MD and taught on the island it was fun reading a story that was situated on Kent Island.

Good Twist

Another fun story in this series. Enjoyed the twist in the resolution with the bad guys. I liked the characters but at times Silver’s growth was hard to listen to but she got there with knowing her tendencies and worked at changing how she reacted. Looking forward to the other books.

Some “Ick” Factor, But Great Characters

Heroine Silver is one prickly pear! We come to understand over the course of the book why, but that doesn't make it any easier for the reader or listener to see her struggle in so many ways, including accepting help and understanding her worth. She's grown up in a toxic environment and makes her living doing a job usually reserved for men. Something's not quite right at work, and she ends up putting herself at significant risk to figure out what's going on. There's certainly an enemies-to-lovers aspect to this story, as the two have butted heads before the story opens. But of course, there's also mutual attraction. One thing about Silver is that she says it as she sees it, no matter what. She might lie if she doesn't want to let somebody in, but she's otherwise a straight shooter with little concern for how those words might affect others. Weston is a great, swoon-worthy hero, not letting her get away with anything and holding her to account when she wants to run away. She has so many emotional scars, it's at times hard to watch how that affects not only her but Weston. In the previous two books of the Gemini Group series, the heroines had situations in which they were put into life-threatening ones. This book could have easily gone that way, but I like how the author chose to have Silver make a deliberate choice, not just reacting on instinct but thinking of herself and her future. For someone who grapples with self-worth during the entire book, that was a necessary moment for her character growth.

Like all the books in this series, it's steamy and explicit. I don't mind steamy intimate scenes—in fact, I enjoy them if they don't get too clinical or crude in the naming of parts—but a few moments in this book did give me a bit of an “ick factor” in terms of what they did, what they wanted to do, and how they expressed it. That's unfortunate, because I did really like these characters in general, and it didn't really have to go that way. Despite this, though, I did enjoy their love story and hope to see a little more of them in the background of the upcoming books of the Gemini Group series.

Weston and Silver Love Story

What do you get when you have a former Navy Seal and a stubborn women who pilots a boat on the river? You guessed it outstanding chemistry between Weston said former Seal and stubborn Silver. These two personalities are strong and love hard characters. You have to read or listen to their story as Weston trues to protect her as what every Gemini guy does for his love.

I reread and listened to this book and have to say the narrators hit it on the nail for Weston and Silver.

Weston and Silver are my favorite Gemini couple

Weston is the type of man that will not let any disagreements or bad thoughts settle between him or Silver. silver has a lot going on between being abandoned by her mother and told she was a bad daughter by said mother and a father who cares about his daughter, but thinks he knows what is best for her, based on his wanting to get one over on his ex wife.

Loved this story and how hard this couple worked for their relationship and HEA.

Silver needs to stop posturing

Silver needs true self-confidence. Hers has been destroyed, and she needs help to change from posturing and pretending to true confidence and self-love. She is smart and strong and has a backbone, and her self-confidence simmers under the surface beneath her pretense she just needs Weston to bring out her true worth. Weston is a loyal and protective teammate, friend, and lover. He has to work not to have a heavy hand. He is a good man. The writing, action, and suspense are all well done. The narration is crisp and fresh.

Weston and Silver

Weston and Silver’s story was that of excitement and frustration. Weston was called in to save Silver because of things that she knew. Silver was a funny, frustrating person who would seriously make you think about the friendship 😊. She always wanted to be on a team of agents and fought hard to stay in the know. She grew up on a ship with her father and sailed the seas, lost a great childhood and had a mom who didn’t want to be a part of her life but use her to destroy her father.

Weston was tough but fighting for Silver’s love, affection, safety and everything else in the world was proven to be tiring. He fought to keep her safe and show her trusting the right person will only bring her happiness. He needs her to see he was the good guy, who will put his life on the line for her and fight everything she can’t handle, including herself.

Will Weston prove to Silver she is safe with him? Can he save her not only from herself but also from those who are after her?

Riley Edwards has given us another great story of the Gemini group. These men have strong women with flaws they battle for and against. The narrators once again knocked it out of the park!
