The Sons of Alkaia: Witches of Etlantium novella Kindle Edition

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

She's alone in the dark wilderness, but she's not afraid.
Alkaia brought her warriors back from near extinction when she enslaved the foreign shaman known as Theron. Now that they have what they need, the warriors plan to rid themselves of male influence.

But Alkaia finds something unique in the shaman and decides to rescue him from certain death, going against her tribe's laws. When she gives birth to twins, her tribe is free to punish her for her sins. She is exiled with the son she bore and nothing to help them survive the wilderness.

They think her death is inevitable. The wolves who close in on her think her death is inevitable. But in the darkness, it's that shaman's voice that sings to her and gives her strength. If she's to survive, she'll have to use the newborn she bore him to turn the odds in her favor.

If she ends up dead, it won't be because she didn't go down fighting.

If you enjoyed the Witches of Etlantium, you'll enjoy this spin off tale of warrior women.

Thea is a NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY Bestselling Author who writes action-packed urban fantasy with dark themes. She used to have a black lab at her feet when she wrote, warming up the calves. Now it's just a cuppa tea keeping her warm.

Whether she's finding ways to lure Isabella Hush into the Shadow Bazaar or throwing the switch on a new monster, her characters are usually deeply wounded individuals struggling for redemption. The romance is slow-burn but worth it, and the humor just might have a touch of Canadiana.

She's a huge fan of Patricia Briggs and Laurel K Hamilton and hopes you'll enjoy slipping into the skin of the characters she's created.

Top review from the United States

Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2014
This novella is good, I wish the author could have added more but that's just my love of reading something good, something different. And Thea Atkinson has certainly done that. In the world she has created with this series, tribes, witches and elements are put together in a new format that is refreshing. I'm currently reading the 3rd book in the series plus the 2 novellas and I don't continue a series if it's unable to hold my interest. Safe to say I like this series. Ms. Atkinson has definitely garnered my interest as a reader I will be keeping my eye out for new books from her.
