About this ebook

An unearthed amphora could contain the stuff of dreams…or the start of a nightmare.

The only thing Ayla is good at is running away. That won't work this time. This time, she faces curses, prophecies, and a host of new supernatural monsters that she is supposed to reap. But none of it is easy. In fact, most of it is downright deadly.

A strange discovery right in her backyard poses a new threat. These three ancient looking urns they've unearthed aren't just any normal every day containers. They look like resurrection jars, and the only way to find out, is to look inside. But what will she be risking by peering into the unknown? Worse: what will she be risking if she doesn't?

It's only when the Angel of Death arrives, that the full and awful truth comes to light, and Ayla realizes the choice is immaterial. Because this might be her last reap…

Callum has been trying to teach Ayla how to protect herself but her instincts tell her to flee every time he comes at her. Finally, the day comes when Gramps is released from the hospital. Sarah attempts to get rid of what was released when Ayla saved her in the crypt. This book contains action, romantic feelings, and ends in a cliffhanger. Highly recommended. Dire is the second book In the Reapers Redemption Series. I loved reading it.. Ayla is the main character in the story accompanied by Sarah, Callum and Gramp (Ayla's Grandfather). Thea is an awesome author.. she makes her books like they could be read as stand aloned.. but it's best to read them in order. But if you start the second book she makes it easy to catch on what has happened in the storyline. Ayla is quite the character.. I love how she figures out what is happening and how to solve a problem after a bit of thinking. Sarah the Necromancer is special.. I love how she has the take control of any situation.. Gramp is awesome.. he has the best caring attitude for his Granddaughter and of the natural world.. As Gramps is a Druid of Nature. Callum is a unique character.. I love his protectiveness when it came to Ayla. He doesn't want to.let anything happen to her. The story holds you with its fast pace and surprise at the end.

About the author

Thea is a NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY Bestselling Author. She used to have a black lab at her feet when she wrote, warming up the calves. It can be cold in rural Nova Scotia. Now it's just a cuppa tea keeping her warm.

Whether she's finding ways to lure Isabella Hush into the Shadow Bazaar or throwing the switch on a new monster, her urban fantasy pulses with dark themes, slow-burn but satisfying romance, and action-packed intrigue. Her characters are always deeply wounded creatures struggling for redemption. She's a huge fan of Patricia Briggs and Dannika Dark and hopes you'll enjoy slipping into the skin of the characters she's created.
