About the author
Thea is a NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY Bestselling Author who writes action-packed urban fantasy with dark themes. She used to have a black lab at her feet when she wrote, warming up the calves. Now it's just a cuppa tea keeping her warm.
Whether she's finding ways to lure Isabella Hush into the Shadow Bazaar or throwing the switch on a new monster, her characters are usually deeply wounded individuals struggling for redemption. The romance is slow-burn but worth it, and the humor just might have a touch of Canadiana.
She's a huge fan of Patricia Briggs and Laurel K Hamilton and hopes you'll enjoy slipping into the skin of the characters she's created.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2015I really enjoyed this series, this final leg of the story ,tugged at my heart, as the characters found their true selves, and Alaysha found the love she had craved all of her life.
In the end she finally got to choose what it was that she wanted. There's mystery, and treachery in this story, at times I found myself smiling at the mighty warrior Cai, and her lack of use and respect for men, and her rare humor.
I found myself worrying that Alaysha, wouldn't reach her goals, but cheered for her spunk and resourcefulness. And I was happy when she and Gael, finally realized they we're meant to be.
You'll love this series and this book, it's very well written keeps you interested, and in the end you'll find yourself saying, and wondering what will she do now, wishing there were more stories, telling of what a Great Emri, she became, and how she led her people....you just won't want to say goodbye.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2016I truly enjoyed this series. I think this one was strong until the end. It all seemed a little rushed and I was trying to keep up with what was going on. The final confrontation was kind of anticlimactic as well. Too easily won. I am just a little under impressed with the ending. I saw at the end of this book that she is writing another in the series. I hope that ties up and explains this book. But on a whole this is a great book. Just feel set up for Alaysha to be all powerful and she wasn't.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2021On book four of the series, praying for a happier the soon! I have certainly enjoyed all of the previous books. How Cai could leave Alyssa who knows..For now on to the FIRE WITCH. A remarkable adventure taken by so many. Thanks to Lilath she was predicted to resolve many issues and she did!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2017This book resolves the story of the previous books. Anyone who has read the previous books is committed to the characters so this book is satisfying. The story is pretty good. The writing continues to be adequate not great.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2014It appears this will be it for the characters, but that's okay. The story line was very interesting and the characters "tough as nails". The ending resolved all the issues well, but left room for sequels if the author so desires. This world was very strange but very entertaining. I would recommed this to my SF friends.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2015I enjoy Thea Atkinson's writing. She combines imagination with possibility. I think everyone would enjoy this trilogy. I certainly did.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2014I really loved this series. I think that each book of the series was better than the last. The characters were people I cared for—some more than others!—and knowing this is the end has saddened me.
Thea Atkinson is a writer that I will recommend to many others.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2013I thought the book ended well after reading the whole series this book wrapped everything up. Really good new author
