Publisher's summary

Can two very different men turn an intense holiday romance into lasting love?

Jude

I shoot my mouth off and hide behind my smile as I try—and fail—to fill the void inside. Nothing has felt right since I was medically discharged from the army. Can there be more to life than a dead-end job and meaningless hook-ups?

Kasper

I didn’t expect to win a Cuffd Destinations holiday, let alone meet a sexy guy who’s fun to be around. Jude doesn’t think he’s a Daddy, but I’m going to prove him wrong. Who knows what we might discover along the way?

Crazy Little Thing Cold Love is part of the Destination Daddies Season Two multi-author series. It features an emotionally scarred army veteran, a bubbly boy who sees the world in a unique way, summer snow, lots of steam, and a happy ending. Each book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, but there are so many destinations and Daddies to discover, why not grab them all?

Trigger warning for mentions of PTSD, flashbacks, and nightmares.

Totally enjoyable story!

Loved it! Enjoyed listening to it as much if not more than the book, the interacion between Jude and Kasper was more intense as you listened to them working their way to their happy after. Everyone struggles in life some more so than other from events in their past I loved how Kasper excepted and supported Jude and their loving care of each other as their relationship grew.

Let it snow!!!

Snow vacation in the summer? Yes please!

This has to be one of the sweetest books you will ever read!

A boy who sees color and is an art therapist looking for a Daddy to spend the vacation in Austria he won.
A Dom with PTSD going on a vacation to try out a new kink in hopes of finding what his friends have as a Daddy and Boy.
When these two meet sparks and colors fly.

The characters are so well developed you will fall in love with them. They compliment each other and are the perfect fit. You will laugh and cry, you will be cheering them on as they race toward a happy ever. You will also find yourself singing along with them as they randomly burst into meaningful song.

This is a great summer read or listen, I highly recommend this one!

The narration with different accents was amazing. You will get drawn into this novel by an amazing voice!!!

Ryman’s narration is a lovely shade of pink

Colette Davison is always going to be a one-click author for me exactly because of books like this. Part of the Destination Daddies Season 2 series, Crazy Little Thing Cold Love, features Jude and Kasper. We met Jude in the first season in the book Greeking Out as best friend to Ben who meets Jayden. Ben and Jude were honorably discharged from the army after having experienced the effects of bombing - Ben without an arm and Jude with severe PTSD. Davison does an amazing job portraying the effects of PTSD, all while still managing to be an overall low angst read. Kasper has synaesthesia — which is seeing sound — and that was so fun to read. I loved hearing him describe the colors of sounds and Jude’s voice — it was a really unique addition to the book. Davison pretty consistently manages to add something unique to each story and that is one of the reasons I love all of them. Since it’s fairly low angst overall, this a reasonably quick read. Would give it 4.5 stars (rounded up to 5 starts for the review since you can’t do half stars) because the back half was a little slow moving. Overall she does a good job focusing on scenes that move the plot forward with unique characters dealing with real issues (PTSD) that make this worth the read. Addendum: love piers ryman’s narration on audible. He really brings Kasper and Jude to life. I’d read this book at release but listening to the narration brought it to life a second time. Buy, read, listen. Repeat.

Colette’s best

Ugh I absolutely adore this story. I adore how imperfect it is. I adore the fact that it shows people deserve love even when they think they’re broken. It shows that love can be patient and overcome even the biggest obstacles. And Piers did a great job bringing it to life, I just wish he’d not rush through sentences on one breath. It gets distracting. Regardless of that I still thoroughly enjoyed this listen.

Beautiful Romance!!

I love Jude and Kasper's story. We get a taste of Jude in His Boy to Cherish as Ben's best friend and he was a bit loud and very sarcastic. You don't have to be familiar with the other story to understand this one (but it's super cute as well). Here we get to see more sides to Jude as he is still processing being discharged from the military for his PTSD. He's in a bit of a status as he's not sure what he wants to do and just shuffling a bit day to day. Luckily he meets Kasper at a Cuff'd get away and I love how they talk a lot and get to know each other. We don't have to wait too late for the sparks to fly between these two but there's a beautiful relationship that's begun first which I think is important for Jude. Kasper on the other hand hasn't been on a holiday in forever trying to get his student debt paid off. I think Jude helps to keep him from overworking and burning out nicely. They definitely bring out the best in each other and Kasper deftly handles Jude's PTSD episodes.

Piers Ryman is an excellent narrator and he did an amazing job of bringing Jude and Kasper to life. His performance during Jude's episodes definitely got me choked up! So much emotion from Jude during those moments and Kasper's concerned worry was spot on! You definitely won't regret taking a chance on this one and it'll leave you feeling happy and warm inside!

Jude and Kasper

Crazy Little Thing Cold Love is part of the multi-author Destination Daddies Season Two series. I loved this wonderfully written story from beginning to end. After meeting Jude in His Boy to Cherish, I was hoping he would find his happy ending. After being medically discharged from the army, because of his PTSD, Jude needed to find someone who would love him just as he is. Kasper was just that person. Kasper happened to win a Cuffd destination holiday, thanks to his best friend, and met Jude there. I loved how patient Kasper was with Jude in helping him discover his kink. He really brought out Jude's natural instincts. I loved their journey as they got to know each other and how they made their relationship work for them. This really is a sweet book and I recommend it.
Narrator Piers Ryman does a fabulous job. You can tell he really enjoys what he does.

A sweet and touching binge listen!

Another binge read for me and the audio is a binge listen, for sure! That doesn't happen often these days, but several of this author's books have been on that list. This book is another fantastic addition to the Cuffd app stories seen in the multi-author series Destination Daddies and also Naughty or Nice. Jude, the best friend of one of the main characters from Naughty or Nice Season 2's book His Boy to Cherish, gets his own sweet and sometimes bratty boy in this wonderfully sweet and touching, often emotional, story. Jude and Kasper's journey is about finding yourself, being open to new experiences, being vulnerable but also incredibly strong, as well as learning to accept help and be your true self. I devoured it in about a day and a half and I am eagerly awaiting the next installment. I'm hoping Kasper's best friend gets his Daddy next!

I previously read the ebook of this story and the original review is above this one. The audio is done beautifully. The narrator does a wonderful job of making this story even more vibrant and real. You can hear the varying personalities in the narrator's voice so clearly. Hearing the characters speak and tell their stories added layers of emotions to this already brilliant book. It was wonderful to revisit Jude and Kasper in an all-new way. I just love them!

This book is amazing.

Wow. Wow! This book is amazing! So sweet and fun and low angst and perfect! I loved Jude so much in Ben and Jayden’s story. I loved how funny he was, loud-mouthed and brash. But, seeing him in his own story, was so much better. To see him more subdued, vulnerable and actually himself without his mask, was absolutely beautiful. The instant chemistry he had with Kasper was potent. Kas was absolutely perfect for Jude. He understood his PTSD and knew how to ground him. He was funny and sarcastic to match Jude. He was right amount of naughty, compassionate and understanding all-around. They immediately hit it off so well and it was such a joy to read. The incorporation of music and how well it went with Kasper seeing sound was so cool. Just him being able to see sounds the way he can was so cool. If I could have, I’d have read it in one sitting. If I could, I’d give it more than five stars. Colette is an amazing author. Every book I read of hers gets better and better. I hold her and her works close to my heart. I’m blessed I’ve to be on her ARC team.

My goodness, Piers Ryman is so talented. After I listen to him, I hear his voice as I read other books. His emotion, his accents and his voice. Chef’s kiss. So awesome.

A unique love

Suffering with PTSD after his time in the military, Jude was trudging through life and never expected to find a suitable partner.
Kasper was a breathe of fresh air. A boy with his own uniqueness and sass who brought out a side of Jude that helped in unmeasurable ways.

This lovely, well executed story will captivate you from the first chapter. With a realistic storyline, engaging characters and a fantastic epilogue, this a definitely worth the listen.

The narration elevated the story and Piers brings the characters to life exceptionally well. With his accent it's easy to identify each character and keep engrossed in this tale.
